Just like most of us, I have been following the saga of "Balloon Boy".
http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/10/15/crimesider/entry5386406.shtmlSo many people these days are looking for instantaneous fame. This mode of thinking is no doubt fueled by the reality shows which make up most of tv programming.
How could two adults, who parent three young boys, dream up such a concoction to trick the world into thinking that this hoax was real news?
Sure, everyone knows about Balloon Boy now. But 5 years, 10 years and even 25 years from now, this whole fiasco, which will have been forgotten by the world, will still permeate the thinking of their three children.
As a publisher of educational resources, I know that our resources can make a difference in the lives of kids - but not a monumental difference. Children are most affected by how they live and who they live with.
Enough said.
