Hey Everyone. I wish that we could sick around this festival for the rest of the weekend. But Friday has come and gone and at 3 AM we head to Tulsa, OK. I'm not gona lie to you. It was very very hot today. Don't think I stopped sweating all day.

--wish I would have had time to see Stars and Cat Power and a few others....

By the time our show came around however, there was a nice breeze accross the grounds. I don't know how the audience stays excited for the music all day long. In the sun, the crowds, the dust and being on their feet all day. They are stronger than almost any band here, I'm sure.
Our show was really fun, I thought. But on Ode to a Butterfly, there were some guitar technical difficulties, inasmuch as ... it wasn't audible...to anyone. But Chris and I held it down :) Other than that, I think it went pretty well for a festival show. (which is generally a challenge because you have no soundcheck, just get onstage and play a short set). We love this festival though. Its been very good to us. Radio here, the people, the whole city.
After a little signing at the Watterloo Records tent I went to find Ray LaMontagne, who'd asked me to play a little with him during his set. I played and sang on his first record and so we did one. He sounded great, of course, and is playing with a good bunch of musicians. I always enjoy singing with him.
Now we're heading back to the hotel to wash the festival stank off our feet. Wish us luck!

I was there Friday, and you guys were absolutely amazing. I hadn't had a chance to see you since the last time y'all were able to play the ACL Festival, but it was well worth the wait. I love love love your music and how it gives everyone that listens the best vibe. Thanks from the bottom of this fan's heart for all your music and visiting our fair city. Have a safe trip to Tulsa and everywhere else you may travel.

As a native to Austin I have to say yall are as always welcomed and loved here. I was sad to see yall had to head to tulsa as I was hoping you'd do other shows like yall did during SXSW. Seeing you at a festival is cool, but seeing yall at the cactus or gruene was amazing, I hope yall come back to one of those venues, before you go on hiatus.

I know how festivals can be and when you have your favorite band on stage the heat doesn't matter! I first saw you all at the 50th Philly Folk Fest and it was awesome like everytime I have seen any of you play!!!
Too bad that Ode to a butterfly had difficulity but I am sure no one really noticed for also in that kind of heat the brain misses things!! Still am glad we moved to the Northwest away from the heat but to see that festival would of been amazing!
Take care and Good luck tomorrow!!

my friend lori was at the show and she was telling me how you were rocking the black dress and cowboy boots in the texas heat... not something we have to deal with in chi-town.

safe travels.

Well, I, for one, am quite pleased that you guys are on your way to T-town. We'll be joining you for a great night of songs and sounds there. Very excited. Oh, and I'm more than sure that you guys pulled off that song with great ease despite the technical difficulties. Way to be. :)

Y'all were amesome and I'd never heard/seen you guys before. It's stuff like that that keeps us going. I didn't feel pain until the long wait and walk out of there. Sadly I missed Ray LaMontagne.

Anyway, great show!! Thanks for coming to Austin.

Sick around? Hahah... your music is pretty "sick", but I doubt that's what you meant to type. And I wish we could see you in Tulsa again- but I have to go to a different concert. Have fun at Cain's ballroom- my brother and I met you there four years or so ago. It was one of the best Nickel Creek shows we've ever seen- and that's one out of 14 or so. Love you guys!

Great job guys! You rocked an awsome set. I only wish you could have played more. Last time I saw Nickel Creek was when you played in Austin at "Stub's". You guys always play so awsome and sing so beautiful. I honeslty can say Nickel Creek is my all time favorite band. Thanks again for playing in ACL and can't wait to hear from you guys soon. Good luck!

I must say, I would be very bummed out if I missed out on Stars and Cat Power. Both Amazing bands. You probably are really busy right now with the everything, but if you are on myspace and have a couple extra minutes, check out the bands Some by Sea, and Ghosts and Liars. Some by Sea broke up but still amazing and Ghosts and Liars is the new formed group from some SbS members. I like to think that SbS will be the Uncle Tupelo and Ghosts and Liars will be the Wilco only to the indie world.

Nice to see you back in Austin. Most of us who live here are used to the heat. We've had one of the hottest, dryest summers on record. Only recently has it cooled off.

I heard you were going to be taking a break. If that's true, then I guess I'll have to survive. But I'll be there to enjoy your future collaborative projects.

Enjoy the rest of your tour!

ya'll were so amazing. actually two songs into your set (doubt you saw it) a girl started having an epileptic siezure right in front of me. it was crazy. she ended up being ok... but it was a strange way to start ya'lls show. but you did wonderfully. i was thrilled to get to hear you guys play. loved your version of toxic. great stuff! ok. safe travels ya'll. p.s. - i love chris's "rock'n out faces"... they're fantastic.

Nickel Creek was the BEST part of the ACL Fest! Sara's singing fiddle and the band's gorgeous vocals backdropped against the sunny blue sky, high white clouds, and a sporadic cool breeze really made my Friday and cemented my new love for this fantastic band. Thank you, all!

Oh my wordy-word!!!!!!!! You guys sounded sooo good on friday. I only stood the heat cause I wanted to hear y'all play. :o) I noticed that guitar thing, and thought maybe you and Chris should have another solo(or three) everytime! I don't care about the title, man, that song rocks anyway. It was good to see ya' in the WL tent(my asian fan looks much better signed). Thank you for playing for us in the heat. Take care!

Oh my goodness, you guys were unbelievable on Friday! You stole the festival as far and away the best act I saw with no one else even coming close (though my friend, who got to see Ben Harper, said he wasn't far behind). I love your music, and everytime I see you live walk away amazed. And while I hate to dump this on such a public forum, I heard a VERY disturbing rumor that this was Nickel Creek's last tour together. Please tell me this isn't true!! Seriously, you guys are making some of the best music out there right, and in my opinion Why Should the Fire Die was your best yet ... please don't go away!

You have no idea how thoroughly upset I was that I couldn't attend ACL this year. Usually, it's a tradition to attend. Unfortunately, I moved to Telluride, CO exactly two weeks before the festival. I never thought I could be so upset about moving to the home of Bluegrass Festival and Blues and Brews Festival.

I know it's been some time since this post, but, this was a great show! Thanks for joining ACL this year!

As an Austin resident, I get to see many many bands through the year...but...seeing Nickel Creek at ACL, SxSW, and at the Waco show made my musical year!

I wish you guys the best with your new adventures and I hope you guys are able to continue playing together at some point.

Thanks for helping to Keep Austin Weird! :-) ...and for sharing your wonderful talent!
