Cheers Everybody!
We had one helluva active week last week and I just thought I'd take a moment to tell ya'll about it, if your interested.
On Wednesday the 24th we made it down to my old hometown of Chicago to play a gig with our friends MWC @ the Red Line Tap. This place is just off the Morse stop on the red line "L" and every few minutes the train comes rollin' up to a stop. Undeniably Chicago. Ya gotta love it. The bar is really friendly and it was great seeing our friends that we only get to see far and few between. MWC sounded great....even with their percussionist sitting in on drums as their drummer, Jeet, was on holiday in India. We've become fast friends with these cats and we look forward to playing and partying with them more in the future.
Because of our work schedules, we all had to hop in David Banner (the band van) and cruise back up to Madison after the show. It was the coldest fucking ride any of us have ever had....probably in our entire lives. See, the bottom of the van is slightly rusted out and the back door is slightly bent from when Wade backed into a fence pole at the Brown Bear in Elkhart Lake. This allows the wind to just blow right through that fucker and christ was it cold. You know I'm serious by the amount of explatives I'm using. We finally rolled back into town at around 5:30 AM.
Luckily for us, Wade is one industrious dude. By the time we hit the road Friday for Sturgeon Bay, he had a bunch of the holes and the crack in the back door patched with some fungus-like sealent. It certainly seemed to help. With everyone having to work until 5, and Sturgeon Bay being roughly 3 1/2 hours away, we all had to bust ass to get out of town on time. Once there, we were greated by our friends "The Form" who came up to play the show with us from Milwaukee. About two-thirds through their set, some members of Sturgeon Bay's "Finest" paid us a visit saying that they were receiving all sorts of noise complaints and that if they had to come back a second time they were going to fine everyone in the band in addition to the bar. The idea of us all being fined did not sit too well with us and we turned it down to probably a new low. Our parents loved it.
Saturday, we made it back down to one of our favorite bars, The Lazy Gecko, in DePere. We have had consistenly great shows there for a while now but this one probably took the cake. Just non stop fun and revelry from the get go to last call and then some. That's all I can really say about that. If you don't believe me, come check it out yourself some time. Congratulations to our frineds Eric and Sam on their new baby on the way!
I guess that's it for now folks. We'll try to keep you updated more often. I promise.
Love,
Josh
