2009 Poster Design Contest

The Atlanta Blues Society announces a design contest to select a graphic for use on the 2009 Annual Blues Festival.  This design may appear on posters, T-shirts and other places deemed appropriate. The winner will receive recognition in the Festival Program and on the ABS Website.

The contest rules are listed below.

CONTEST RULES

1. This contest is open to artists of all ages in the USA & abroad.

2. Each person is limited to two (2) entries.

3. Entries should depict a blues oriented theme.  

4. The artwork/design must be suitable for use on posters, t shirts and    other media as deemed appropriate by the ABS.

5. The artwork/design must be the original work of the submitting entrant and must be previously unpublished.

6. Computer generated design can be submitted on CD-ROM or email with the highest resolution jpeg. Please label CD-ROM and hard copy with your name, address, telephone number and email address. Please keep in mind that original art will need to be high-resolution (at least 600 dpi in order to scale up to final size.

7. All other entries may be submitted on any media, i.e. canvas, poster board, etc. Please label the back of your entry with your name, address, telephone number and email address.

8. Artwork not supplied on disk must be scannable and no larger than the 11 X 17” size.

9. The poster will be color 11x17.

10. Winner’s bio (300 words or less) will be featured in a press release  on our website, and included in the festival program.

11. Upon selection, the winning design becomes the property of the ABS, with all rights and privileges pertaining to copyright, reproduction, and ownership being relinquished by the artist.

12. Entries will be evaluated based on appeal, content and marketability. The winning design will be selected by the Board of Directors of the ABS. The decision of the judges is final. The winning design will become the Official Poster for the 2009 Atlanta Blues Society Blues Festival and may appear in and on other promotional materials as deemed appropriate by the Atlanta Blues Society.  By submitting an entry, you are transferring all rights to this work to the Atlanta Blues Society for use on the ABS’ website and other promotional materials.

13. The Atlanta Blues Society reserves the right to reject any and all entries and procure a design from another source.

14. The Atlanta Blues Society does not assume responsibility for, damage to, or the return of submissions.

15.  Helpful hints:  This event takes place in the fall and will be held at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre on the square in Marietta, GA
