Current mood: voluminous
Wow! Don't know enough superlatives oror even expletives to describe the Tewkesbury Blues Fest yesterday. It was incredible!
People stayed all day, and night - packed to rafters and swinging off the beams. The acts in the day were something else. Fabulous blues sets from Paul Cowley and Tony Stokes, Poor Bob Jones, Slim and Dusty and The Mellow Peaches, beaitifully offset by the lyrical Nemosyne and Are they Farmers! And with the unexpected , and weirdly wonderful 2 harmonica playing Brendan (YEs he plays two simultaneously, while doing bear impressions!)
The night started with a real kick and a smile with Jamsideup doing their their swing thing, and then we kicked right back into the Blues with a second set from the fabulous Mellow Peaches. Ragtime Ewan rocked the house and Babajack brought the house down. They were dancing in the streets and raising the roof! (Bill and Emma had brought in extra provisions so the beer didn't run out!)
AND WE'RE DOING IT ALL AGAIN TODAY!
So come on down this afternoon (from 1pm) for: Stompbox Steve,Box n'Harp, Mark Bennett, John Denton, BabaJack (the second set) The Abbott of Unreason (featuring Noor Ali), Slidin Steve.
AND The wonderful Cool Hand and Will Killeen from 8pm to see out this fantastic weekend.
SEE YOU THERE! Yours delirious with it all
