Public Reading: Take Action! End Violence Against Women!
Saturday 8th November. 6pm - 8pm. downstairs in Borders, Buchanan Street.

One in four women suffer domestic violence in their lifetimes, Scotland has a rape conviction of 2.9% and Scotland has a disproportionate percentage of the UK's human trafficking victims.

In the run-up to the 16 Days Of Activism Against Gender Violence Campaign (for more info see http://www.cwgl.rutgers.edu/16days/about.html) Glasgow Feminist Network would like to invite you to a reading and discussion on Saturday the 8th of November from 6-8pm at Borders Buchanan Street, downstairs in the basement.

At this event we will explore the aforementioned issues, whilst also looking at positive actions (this could range from action taken by women's groups from around the world or actions you have taken personally) that have been taken in the struggle against gender violence. Those who attend are encouraged to share their views and to bring along readings they would like to share (this could be taken from a book, films, poems, articles, songs, anything goes!) which have perhaps shocked or inspired you.

Free entry; refreshments provided; women and men welcome.

Please forward this onto any organisation or group that you think might be interested in coming along, thanks!
