Howdy, friends.

If you are reading this, there is a good chance that you have taken the time to either come out to see us play, check out our new record, or at least waste a few minutes of your life scanning our myspace page. And for that, I want to say THANK YOU.

We just got back from almost 2 full months of touring, and it could not have been more fulfilling. We traveled with some of the most inspiring musicians on the planet (Doublewide and Punk Pop represent!), experienced some serious growth as a band, shared our music with lots of enthusiastic folks, met amazing people all over the U.S. (and Canada, of course), and quite simply had the time of our lives. And I just want to say thanks to all of you for making our year. Possibly decade.

We're going to be heading back to the southeast at least 3 times in 2009 (once for Mardi Gras), and we'll be hitting up the eastern half of the U.S./Canada at least twice (April and October). I can't wait.

If you'd like to help us out while I'm planning our future endeavors, just play the new record for people whom you think would like it. We try our best to let the music speak for us (largely due to my horrible oratory skills) and I think that Bring Us the Bright has a lot to say.

If you took photos/videos of us during the trip, feel free to email them to me! My address is snarkypuppy(at)yahoo.com. I'll be sure to give you credit if I post them.

As usual, don't hesitate to contact me if you have anything to ask or say. Like this little nugget from the head of a local jazz society on the east coast:

"Dear Snarky Puppy Guys,

I heard you play at the (venue) in (town name) yesterday, October 14th. This was the second time I heard you perform at the (venue). I also own your 2007 and 2008 albums. Love them both.

So, as the President of the __________ Jazz Society and truly a fan on you guys, I wanted to let you know that in my opinion your live performance volume is WAY TOO LOUD. You guys are too talented to be playing at an ear splitting volume in a small venue. My wife and I had to keep moving towards the back of the (venue) and even then it was still too loud. This was also true of your 2007 performance.

We included a listing for your gig on the ____________ Jazz Society web site but I would be reluctant to push your performance to much as I think others who might attend based on our recommendation would find the loud volume unappealing. Please give this consideration for you next performance in ____________ (and maybe elsewhere)."

Absolutely priceless!

Hope to see you all/hear from you soon, and we'll be sure to keep the volume down...

Thanks,
Michael

Oh Snarky Puppy, my favourite musicians that I accidentally met while in Toronto...I'm keeping a tab on your DFW shows and intend to go to one as soon as possible! You guys are fantastic, but you already knew this.

holy crap!! that beats any story I've got. I once had vocal instructor write in detail on a cocktail napkin how awful i was in ever possible, imaginable way, but yours is priceless! I personally think you should get 4 22" bass cabs for your next tour, and two more LOUD drummers. Lanzetti needs at least 2 full marshall stacks, and nate needs some tympani's and an xtra large Gong. and matt perrine through some 22's as well.
