Unfortunately, this goes on in many countries. Remember some years back everything was labeled made in Taiwan. Diamonds have laser markings that most don't know about. Many companies move into these countries to take advantage of the impoverished people. The price mark up is unjustified but they constantly increase the price of goods and blame it on the higher prices in oil and inflation. Greed is the reason!!!!
Those at the top are getting huge salaries and bonuses while those at the bottom are given next to nothing. No one can justify paying a person 5 cents or less to make a doll/stuff animal and charging $24 or more for it. Until the consumer realizes this is a common occurance they'll keep doing the same thing...They have to have the last edition be it toy, computer, car, people, etc. Yes, it does provide a job for someone in need who must work for the survival of themselves and their family but this is not the way.
This is really a form of modern slavery and it shows the morality and humanity of those involved. To exploit people for labor and sex is truly vicious and unhumane...These are the corporate excecutives and stockholders that smile for you everyday. The change will start with us the consumer...They pay attention when you affect their bottom line (Profits).
