So Brandon is off in Biloxi, MS this weekend - Helping to cleanup debris so they can start to rebuild there.
I heard from him last night and he said that the devastation there is really heartbreaking.
He'll be going back on 10/7, with Halle, on a family trip with some other people at church. I'm wondering what kind of impact this will have on her. I think it will be a good one. As Brandon put it, she is old enough now to be able to be help. This will probably alter her world view a bit. She's had a pretty sheltered 12 1/2  years up to this point.
Maddy still refers to the entire disaster as "the people on the roof" because those were the bulk of the pictures available when I was telling her about what was going on.
I'm really hoping Brandon will be careful while he's down there. He doesn't have the best track record for remembering to take care of himself. :)
When he called last night, his back was hurting a bit from working, but just that - haven't used those muscles in a while - thing.
