Current mood: good
for years in los angeles, i held my own version of indie celebrations called "olivoiL indienights." (olivoiL is the name of my humble indie label) and the indienights were my stab at creating a friendly, joyful music community in LA. for years, the shows did exactly that. they were fun, the talent was great, the vibe & the intention were spirited. after 8 years, and 14 showcases, the series came to an end at the hotel cafe - jan 2008.
last year, saucy had a spot on the SD Indiefest - which in many ways is a grander version of those indienights. the organizers, danielle lo presti & alicia champion, have been able to turn their event into an enourmous endeavor. this year, there are 85 bands, 4 or 5 stages, radio commericals, charity events, films - it's incredible. hat's off to ya girls. this saturday, we've a slot on the green stage - which is actually a walk up (free) show.. at 4pm.
this is a worthy event, for anyone with a car - or access to the SD trains. . and we're still celebrating being independent. so come out & join us this week!
