As many of you already know from reading my blogs or my book "Dancing on Broken Glass", Bobby Fish was my street name when I was in a teen street gang as a wild teen, and also during my 25 year heroin/cocaine addiction in Manhattans Spanish Harlem.  Sometimes I look at my old pictures taken during that time period back then, and I recall a lot of things that make me really cringe today about my crazy past...somethings that were my fault, and some that weren't, and I thank God that Im not in that negative space anymore today.  Its completely clear to me today that I had been locked into a suicidal position for 25 years of my life,and that my disease of addiction had already set its sight on me by then to once and for all, permanantly end my miserable life...period.  It had already tried to kill Bobby Fish on several occasions with drug overdoses, for sure... but Unbelievably, with Gods help and intervention, I somehow survived them and was instead eventually guided into a 12 step rehab that would completely change my whole outlook on my life back then, and what I was supposed to be doing with it from that day forward as well.  So, where is Bobby Fish Today?  Bobby Fish unexpectedly died on 10/14/86...because thats the actual date that my recovery began for me 23 years ago.  I've seen, done, and accomplished many wonderful personal dreams over the past 23 years of my life, and although I truly do not know where my life will be taking me tomorrow, I do know that wherever I do go, that I will be going there as RF Maldonado...and not Bobby Fish anymore.  
       Rest in Peace now Bobby Fish, for it was actually the better part of you inside of me in the end, that actually wound up delivering me to my present day recovery.

Beautiful write, Roberto.  Bobby Fish is resting in peace now, deep in your beautiful soul.  The part of you that was Bobby has been transformed into the man that you are today.  Hugs and kisses always.
