Rick Liddell welcomed another great crowd for Defiant Pro Wrestling's March 9th TV taping, who then returned the welcome with loud applause! Without wasting any time, a sharp-dressed CC LaSalle made his way to the ring to address the crowd! However, before he could welcome Defiant Pro Wrestling owner, Mike E. Milano, he was interrupted by what sounded like Milano's entrance theme! When an alternate version of Personal Jesus played, DPW Commissioner Joseph J Alexander came to the ring in Milano's trademark leather jacket and sunglasses! Smiling wickedly at the jeering crowd, Alexander chased LaSalle from the ring and took over the mic! Claiming Milano violated the stipulations of an earlier agreement stating the energetic owner could not put his hands on the Commissioner, Alexander claimed he now had legal authority to take complete control of the promotion! He then vowed to make life hell for anyone who had stood up to his draconian actions previously, and challenged anyone in the locker room to face his wrath!

Suddenly, Lenn Oddity's music came on the PA system! Tattooed Ugly came to a loud ovation as the commissioner sneered! Oddity entered the ring and stated "Geez! If there's nothing in your mouth to munch on, you can't shut up!" The crowd laughed and cheerfully jeered JJ again as Alexander reminded Oddity of his Brutal Liaisons loss! Alexander stated that while Oddity can be successful in a hardcore brawl, he may not be able to handle a good technical battle; to illustrate his point, he brought out DPW Cruiserweight champion Mikaze and his manager Paulie J! Alexander stated the obvious - Oddity is no cruiserweight - and claimed the first match of the evening would be a non-title match!

- Mikaze vs. Lenn Oddity:
Alexander's words seemed to be prophetic, as Mikaze promptly brought Oddity down to the mat with a waistlock! Oddity looked perturbed, but quickly established control with a legscissor take down and a rear ankle lock, which he quickly turned into a reverse STF! Mikaze escaped and decided to forgo technical wrestling for his kicking prowess, landing his feet squarely into the Junior Juggalo's face and ribs! Mikaze caught Lenn in a chinlock and Oddity escaped, only to be floored by a Mikaze dropkick! Mikaze began to work on Oddity's back! After turning to the crowd, an off-guard cruiser champ got hit by a flying crescent kick from Oddity! Oddity then clotheslined Mikaze and hit a reverse DDT for two! A woozy Mikaze threw his opponent into the turnbuckle, but was hit by a face-first piledriver! Again, Oddity only got two! Oddity then mounted the top rope for a flying legdrop, but the Cruiser champ rolled out of the way! He went under the ring and produced a steel chair, taunting Oddity with it! Referee Stevie Ray Cyrus grabbed the chair from the champ and threatened him with a disqualification! Oddity, seeing that chairs were new in play, went under the ring to grab his own! The speedy Mikaze jumped out of the ring, with Oddity in hot pursuit! The two circled the ring twice before Oddity's longtime nemesis Paulie J clocked Oddity from behind with Mikaze's title belt! Cyrus called for the bell and declared Tattooed Ugly the winner by DQ!

- Sevin Leonard & Todd Sopple vs. Affirmative Action:
Sopple wasted no time becoming almost as hated as Leonard and manager Jimmy Meaz with the Defiant devotees, jawing with any one of the many who booed the newcomer! The AA got a nice pop, particularly young Johnny "Diego" Ramirez! Ramirez could have used some support in the early part of the match, as the far larger Sopple exercised control with punches, knees and kicks to his smaller foe! Leonard assisted in the carnage by dropping a springboard elbow on a helpless Ramirez while Johnny was in a Sopple backbreaker! Sevin followed with a legdrop and it looked like he and Sopple were on their way to victory! However, Johnny retaliated with a clothesline! As Leonard managed to tag in Sopple, Ramirez tagged in former bodyguard "Da Killa" Akeem Rashad! Rashad leveled Sopple with one of his patented dropkicks and dropped Leonard with a clothesline! When he tagged Ramirez back in, however, the momentum switched back to Meaz's team, as Ramirez fell victim to a Sopple powerbomb, with which he got a two count! Leonard came in and worked over the young Ramirez, but Johnny caught him unguarded and landed an implant DDT! Ramirez tagged in Rashad, who again scored with a dropkick! This time the quick tag worked, as Ramirez and Rashad teamed for a Midnight Express-esque Rocket Launcher that led to Ramirez covering for the win! As the two members of Affirmative Action and manager MT Cracka celebrated outside the ring, Leonard, Sopple and Meaz all got into a shouting match, which dissolved into a shoving match between Leonard and Meaz! Out of nowhere, Sopple hit Sevin with a half nelson suplex that leveled the Rock Superstar! After Meaz and Sopple exited the ring, Ramirez went in and assisted security with helping his former training partner to the ring, as Cracka and Rashad returned to the locker room without Johnny! Seeing him alone and eyeing a chance at revenge, "The Shaft" Bobby Ocean slid into the ring with a noose and viciously attacked young Ramirez! Before he could use the noose, however, the Puerto Rican Hound Dogg jumped in and began laying fist on The Shaft!

- "The Shaft" Bobby Ocean vs. Puerto Rican Hound Dogg:
The referee decided to allow the match to take place off the cuff, and Dogg wasted no time continuing to pound on The Shaft, knocking him to the ringside floor after a clothesline! Dogg continued to pummel his former partner outside the ring, but when the action got into the ring, Shaft assumed dominance, stomping away on Dogg's knee and eventually ramming it into one of the steel posts! Ocean then caught the Hound Dogg in a powerslam and then followed with a single leg Boston crab! Dogg managed to avoid tapping and somehow not only got to his feet, but landed a one arm slam on the Shaft, following that with a bone crunching spinebuster! Dogg went to the corner for a slingshot splash, but Ocean ducked out of the way! After both men got to their feet, Dogg locked Ocean in a rear waistlock, but the Shaft gave Dogg a low blow, then - with the help of a handful of tights and both his feet on the ropes - scored the pin! He continued to attack Dogg after the bell, and Ocean even got his noose around Hound Dogg's neck but Affirmative Action hit the ring to return Dogg's favors and Ocean made himself scarce! Ramirez and Rashad helped their friend to his feet, and the three as well as Cracka shook and then raised hands while the crowd cheered!

-Del Tsunami vs. Chris Battle:
Paulie J got on the microphone and - between disgusted pauses due to "HAPPY FEET!" chants - spoke of how disgruntled he was that Battle had successfully avoided defeat after going toe-to-toe with his man Tsunami for ten minutes! Paulie declared he was going to up the ante - not only would this rematch be for an extra five minutes, but the loser must leave DPW for ninety days! Battle came to the ring looking absolutely confident! Tsunami tried to remove that confidence with punches to Battle's head, but Battle countered with hip tosses and dropkicks that sent Tsunami reeling! Tsunami went to the ringside floor, and began to give chase with Battle in hot pursuit! Tsunami got into the ring and tried to hit Chris with an elbow as he entered, but Battle ducked out of the way and connected with a springboard elbow on Tsunami to get a two count! Battle followed with a senton for another two count! Del cheated his way back with an eye rake and ruffian tactics! Battle managed to come back with a sunset flip, but only got two! Tsunami answered with a thunderous Michinoku driver for two! Tsunami continued to use unsavory tactics, choking Battle with his hands, his shirt and the bottom rope! Battle tried to come back again with chops, but Tsunami silenced him with both an elbow smash and a legdrop for another two count! Tsunami announced to the crowd he was going for his signature series of three double underhook suplex, but got only to two before Battle countered with a back cracker! When a stunned Tsunami got to his feet he charged in but was launched by a Battle back drop! Battle began to attack Tsunami in the corner, but Tsunami managed to hit an overhead belly to belly suplex on Chris! Battle somehow came back with an Ace Crusher that stunned Tsunami once again! As Battle seemed primed to go in for the kill, Paulie J distracted the red-haired star! With his back turned, Tsunami lunged and, with a handful of Battle's tights, rolled up Battle for the three count! Battle looked on disgusted as the Brazilian Shooter and his manager glared and mocked their vanquished foe!

- Bull Dredd & Alex Valentine vs. Pat Gunner & Tony Torres -
CC prefaced that Commissioner Alexander was making this odd entanglement "for his own amusement", and he may well have been amused as the four men and mangers Ravishing Ryan Coxxx and Jimmy Meaz all looked bewildered! When Valentine declared that he was going to start for his pairing, Gunner decided to go after his arch foe! However, right before they were to tie up, Valentine turned and tagged in Dredd! The two Dredded Gunns stared at each other, then decided to be professional and compete! Dredd quickly sent his usual partner down with an armdrag, followed by a vice-like armlock! Gunner managed to break free and hit the ropes, but fell to a Dredd hiptoss driver! Dredd got two as Torres stomped on Dredd's head! Dredd wound up distracted long enough for Gunner to hit a reverse chokeslam that knocked the wind out of Bull's sails! Gunner tagged in Torres, who went in on Dredd, but not fast enough to avoid Dredd tagging in Torres's Alumni Club partner Valentine! The Gunns then exited the corners, making the Tag Team champions face each other! The champs, however, seemed prepared, as the two embraced and did "Rock, Paper, Scissors" in the middle of the ring! Valentine's paper covered Torres's rock, so Valentine faked a punch on Torres that Tony theatrically let land on his back as Valentine went for the cheap pin! The Gunns, however, ran in to break it up! When Valentine came to his feet, he was greeted by a Gunner big boot! Valentine fell to his corner and tagged Dredd! Torres decided it was time for one-on-one competition and blind tagged Gunner! Torres charged in with a shoulder block, but bounced off the massive Bull's chest! Dredd pounded Torres and sent the tag champ to the ropes for a dropkick, but missed! Dredd rolled into his corner but was DDT'd on the edge of the ring by Valentine! Now Bull was getting it from both his opponent and his "partner"! Torres muscled up Dredd until Bull managed to score on a swinging neckbreaker! Valentine talked trash to Dredd, but Bull punched his partner for the night in the head, which the ref declared a tag! Valentine came in and was met by a Gunner fall away slam! With Torres still in a daze, the Gunns decided to go for Mass Destruction, but Meaz grabbed Gunner! Gunner dragged in the spiky-coiffed Agent of Champions and seemed to be ready to double-team him! Meaz fast-talked his way out of a bruising, only to be hit by a Savior Spear by Coxxx! The Gunns went in to sandwich the Alumni Club, but both ducked, leading to Coxxx getting squished between his own men! Dredd and Gunner stood stunned! Torres and Valentine took advantage, grabbed the Gunns' tights, and both men scored the pin! Because they were on separate teams, the match was declared a draw, but the tag team champs didn't look disappointed, as they once again got one over on their hated foes!

After intermission, CC returned to the ring and again announced Commissioner Alexander's entrance! Again, Alexander bullied LaSalle while mocking DPW Owner Mike Milano with his choice of attire! Alexander, after yet again singing his own praises, asked Jason Knight to come to the ring! Knight, dressed in street clothes, slowly made his way to the ring! After eyeballing Alexander for a few seconds, he told the Commissioner "When I hit Milano at Brutal Liaisons, it was a long time coming and he deserved it! When I hit you, it's because I can't stand you!" Jason went on to mention how, as the number one contender, he was promised a match against Defiant Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion Big Jim Sullivan. Chris Mooch and Chelle then came to the ring and Chris went nose to nose with Knight. Mooch protested that, while Jason was his trainer and Chris would always respect him as such, he was in fact the number one contender to the DPW title, and was ready to prove it!" Alexander decided then that the main event of the TV taping will be a number one contender's match between Knight and Mooch! The two men shook hands, but continued to stare each other down as first Mooch then Knight went to the back!

- "Loverboy" Ricky Williams vs. J-Busta:
Busta received a warm welcome from the audience, as the blonde cruiserweight contender took on one of many newcomers to the Proving Grounds Sunday! Williams spent much of the early match insulting Busta - going so far as to slap him - until Busta finally landed a back chop on him! Busta took down Williams with a leg scissor into a hammerlock; he then began hitting armdrags that sent Williams spiraling! Busta then threw his opponent into the ropes, but missed a drop kick! Williams dropped an elbow and got Busta in a Mexican surfboard! When Busta got out, this time Williams went for a dropkick, and this time HE missed! Busta then asked the crowd if they wanted to see a brainbuster, and Busta delivered but only got a two count! Williams somehow found his second wind and pounded away on Busta, knocking him down long enough to go to the top rope, but missed a splash on Busta! Busta nailed Williams with a superkick that sent Williams to the floor! Busta then went for a somersault tope and hit! Favoring his back and reeling from the impact, Busta threw Williams back in the ring, who made one last ditch attempt at offense by punching Busta and going for the Unprettier, but Busta countered with a second brainbusta for the hard fought win! Busta tried to shake Williams's hand, but Williams shoved him away! Busta tried again, and this time he relented, only to be superkicked by Busta again! Busta left the newcomer in the dust to a loud round of applause!

Connecticut independent wrestling icon Ron Zombie came out to a huge ovation! He thanked fans who have been supporting his band Alcholica, then displayed his newest tattoo on his arm! Zombie stated that due to the new inking - and since he'd beaten pretty much everyone in the DPW locker room - he might as well take the night off! Suddenly, a vaguely familiar disembodied voice came in saying "You've never beaten me!" Out of nowhere, amid the sounds of a squealing car crash, a man wearing a blond wig, an odd mask and a red flannel shirt came to the ring -GIMMICKKIND!

- Ron Zombie vs. GimmickKind:
GimmickKind surprised people in the crowd by actually getting some offense in the early match, but a big boot by Zombie put the brakes on an upset! GimmickKind had one last chance, though - as Ron argued with the ref, the masked one produced Senor Socko from his crotch and draped it over his hand! GimmickKind went for the mandible claw, but Ron caught his hand and shoved the soiled sock into GimmickKind's mouth! GimmickKind quickly tapped and made a hasty exist, as Ron noted that he was "the only Cactus Jack mark in DPW" before going to the locker room!

- Doug Somers vs. Nocturne:
Nocturne came to the ring to a big ovation, as another DPW stalwart was pitted against another new face. Young Somers actually said he'd rather be golfing - and considering how much time wad spent stalling, one could easily believe him! After a while, Noc finally got tired of Somers's shenanigans and chased the youngster around the ring! Somers tried to drop an elbow on Noc, but the Enigma rolled out of the way and hit Somers with an elbow of his own! Noc then went to work on Somers, chopping him in the corner! Somers raked Nocturne's eyes and began to go to town on him, but when Somers missed a knee drop, Noc fired back with a legdrop and a Michinoku driver for two! Noc then tried to finish Somers with a Swanton, but Somers got out of the way! Somers went for a shining wizard, but he missed and fell victim to a Nocturne package piledriver for the win! Noc celebrated with the fans before heading for the locker room as Somers got assistance to get to his feet!

DPW TV Champion "The 20 Year Old Virgin" William King came out with his manager Jimmy Meaz and a new theme song - "I'm Bringing Sexy Back"! Once the two got in the ring, Meaz immediately began to diss his first-ever client, Sevin Leonard, and made an open challenge to anyone in the locker room who wanted to take on his man King to come out! The two clearly got more than they bargained for when former Cruiserweight champion Frankie Arion came out, looking like he was dying to get his hands on King!

- DPW TV Title match-
"20 Year Old Virgin" William King (c) vs. Frankie Arion:
King sarcastically thanked Meaz for the open challenge, or more accurately the challenger, before the two locked up! Arion's speed befuddled the champ early, as he got King in a headlock, then into a scissor lock, than back into a headlock! Meaz distracted Frankie and King took advantage, using his size advantage against the challenger, most provocatively in a big suplex! As he pummeled Frankie and stretched him, the recently villainous Virgin began taunting Arion, which seemed to spark something within Frankie! Arion ducked under a King clothesline and King got caught in an Arion flying headscissors! When King got to his feet, he was hit by a Thesz press by Frankie, who then pummeled the Untouched One with fist! Arion managed to hit the Contra Code on King, seemingly for the win, but Meaz pulled his charge out of the ring! The ref counted to ten as he physically restrained an enraged Arion from attacking the champ, allowing the Virgin to retain the belt though he lost the match! Arion glared at the boastful King as he went to the back, and though he got a round of applause from the audience, his face revealed his frustration!

- Number One Contender's Match:
Jason Knight vs. Chris Mooch:
Both men came to the ring, still staring each other down! The two quickly went to the mat, first when Mooch hit Knight with a legdive into reverse hammerlock. Jason got to his feet and managed to muscle up Mooch for a reverse gordbuster! Knight then caught the Stratford Red Devil in a reverse sitting head scissor! Mooch managed to grab a hold of Jason's ankle and broke the hold, leading to Mooch catching Knight in a modified leg grapevine! Chris got to his feet and placed Jason in the now infrequently-seen spinning towhold! Knight managed to get out - only to have Mooch set up for a T-Bone Moochplex! Knight managed to escape and hit his former protégé with a DDT! Both men were slow to get to their feet, but Mooch managed to pounce on Knight and hit the T-Bone Moochplex for the win! Mooch went to shake Knight's hand as Knight slowly rose. When Commissioner Alexander approached the ring, Knight decided to take his frustrations out on him, lead to a foot race between the two to the back! As Chelle and the crowd cheered, CC declared Mooch not only the winner, but the number one contender for the Heavyweight title! Just then, the familiar sound of One Blood came on the PA system! The crowd went wild as former Heavyweight champion Slyck Wagner Brown came to the ring! The Underground King got on the mic and said to Mooch that he may have won the match, but Slyck had never gotten his title rematch - so that makes him the number one contender, doesn't it? Alexander reappeared, and stated that he was willing to make the main event for March 21st's Rizen show a Triple Threat match for the Defiant Pro Wrestling Heavyweight title - Champion Big Jim Sullivan vs. Slyck Wagner Brown vs. Chris Mooch! Mooch shook Brown's hand, apparently signifying that the match was on! The crowd saluted the two as they stared each other down, each vowing to win the title!

And there you have it, another night of action, drama, and surprises! Not only have feuds been created (Arion vs. King) and intensified (The Dredded Gunns vs. The Alumni Club), but new talent debuted, and new questions were posed… How long will Mike E. Milano be gone? What will become of Sevin Leonard now that Jimmy Meaz is no longer his agent? How long can William King and The Alumni Club protect their belts from their driven challengers? Most importantly, a huge main event took shape for Friday, March 21st: Big Jim Sullivan, the fearless and ruthless Irish brawler, versus one of the top independent wrestling stars of the past decade, Slyck Wagner Brown, versus one the fastest rising stars in the nation, Chris Mooch, for the Defiant Pro Wrestling Heavyweight title! A match of that significance is hard to pass up! See you there!
