Seriously. The ability to maneuver around with bloggin is far better here than on the other sites. So maybe myspace should get on the ball and push this point.

Yup, I'm blog-dicking...

MySpace is a grease fire at this point.  People are leaving this hell-hole in droves.  And FaceBook is on fire!  (in a good way)  The only "NEW" things MySpace even tries are FaceBook staples.  Come on MySpace!!!  GET A DAMN CLUE!  The only thing MySpace has hands down over FaceBook is the Blogs!  And you are driving your best bloggers away!

I remeber Melissa once writing in a blog that MySpace was like the trailer park of the internet and FaceBook was like the tea room.  Soon thereafter, she disappeared from the MySpace landscape.

Today, MySpace falls victim to yet another top blogger taking their laptop and going home.  DAMN SHAME IT IS!

Anyhow...the point of all of this is that I haven't logged in to MySpace in 3 weeks before today...once a dialy ritual.  Thank goodness I happened to catch this last blog...

I'M WITH YOU STEPH!  I have already added you to my Twitter...

In the words of Eric Cartman..."Screw you guys...I'm going home!"

Myspace should find a way to ban all those that cheat. With today's technology there is surely a way. It's the same 3-10 people that do it consistently. I think it would be hilarious if they did.

While I agree in a way. Leaving for this reason is not good enough. No matter where you go, there will be pro's and con's.

You still have a faithful following. To say, I am unhappy, let's role, is not fair to them, nor you.

Hope you make the right decision, either way, be happy for you.

Much Love.

Well I guess that explains the random amount of kudos i c all the time.
My first sentiment and thought is the same as the person above me. I am actually crying. I am going to miss reading your blogs here every morning. I am going to miss the one person who I know who shares my name AND IS FAMOUS! (lol yes steph you are famous ;-))
Wow Im speechless. I will follow you on blogger. Although, its not as fun but i definitely will be reading your stuff. AND I WILL FINISH READING ALL THE BLOGS I HAD STARTED READING BEFORE HAND. Are you planning on deleting your profile or just not blogging anymore?

All you have to do is join blogger and you'll get Stephanie there.  I don't see what the big deal.  I went there myself and still get her blogs.  I'm staying with myspace because I'm a big music buff and the bands here are great. But I'm blogging with her on Blogger.

CHAD FREY SIXTY° says ITS DRAMA BLOG SWEEPS WEEK!

A+ in getting to know you all these years. Seems like I am one of the few "old schoolers" left.
F in the way and explination of why you are leaving. It does not come across as your head held high.

Many people joined Myspace because it was the "in" thing. Myspace was a social networking meme like no one had ever seen.
So they came, signed up, and checked it out.
The new-ness wore off, and Facebook and Twitter captivated some people as their internet "homes".
Myspace is settling in to its core audience. People have decided their favorite, and I doubt anyone will "jump ship" with you, and it is arrogant to ask.

I do hate the cheating tho. People keep "mega-kudoing" my blog and there is nothing I can do about it. But whatever.
I dont care about rankings. They have never been fair, and in a very very small way... you did cheat them.
You have to post your blog during a certain hour for it to rank. You had the knowledge, so your blogs ranked daily.
If it were not for your privy info, you would be down in the 200's.

Now, it sounds like you are leaving Myspace because your blogs are not ranking.
It has NEVER been a fair system of calculating top blogs.

This is not a "drama" comment. Just me leaving my honest 2 cents.

I hate Myspace because they censor you.  It's why I just got fed up one day and decided to get self-hosted blogs so that I could state my opinions about anything and everything and not have to worry about my blogs getting deleted.

But I still blog on Myspace just because it's fun and it's a good means to cheer myself up.  And I LOVE the people and readers I've met along the way, and I'll still be posting blogs here so I can keep interacting with them.  They have been a very important part of how I cope with the huge stress of my every day life.

Steph, you say any idiot knows about the times you post effects your ranking, well, any idiot also knows that blogging and the internet in general is a virtual (no pun intended) ghost town in the summer months.  It's in the winter when you get the most hits because everyone's cooped up away from the cold.

Myspace isn't going anywhere, it's just slow right now because it's summertime.  We go through this every year in the Myspace blogosphere, and it's not going to change.  I don't know why some people whom have been around long enough to know better insist on blogging about this like this is all new to them.

I guess according to the "Myspace top blogger schedule", Jabs should be making one of his (pathetic) triumphant returns to blogging on Myspace.

I second Chad.

There's no way to hold one's head high when stomping your foot and huffing out the door.

Stephanie, you and I do not always agree.  I think your view on relationships and men and life is very Sex & The City and I only watched that show for the hot men.  BUT..... you do have people who seek and take your "Advice".  There are a lot of people subscribed to you.  Leaving AND asking them to leave looks like the chick at the party who is pissed because no one spoke to her the MINUTE she walked in the door and then wanted to huff out instantly with her posse of BFF's at her heals.

Glitches in MySpace happen.
And writers write.
If rankings are all you were ever here for?

Sorry, you're not a writer.
Writers write to express themselves whether anyone is reading or not because it is a needed part of their chemical makeup.  Just like me with performing.  You "have to" do it.  There is no choice.  If you're saying that you're leaving because you aren't "Numer One!" any more?  You were never writing because it was in you.  You want the rush of popularity that MySpace gave, and that's a really pathetic way to validate one's talent.

At the height of MySpace I was getting 5,000-8,000 views a day. At my lowest point, I was getting 1,500-3,000 views a day. Most of them were unique views. I don't think I would have been at the bottom of the rankings but any idiot knew to play around with the times until they figured out when they'd rank. Posting before 7 a.m. eastern time (YES, that's the secret when rankings work) is not some grand secret. 90 percent of the people here should have figured that out. If 7 a.m. was too early to get up, post the night before and set it to diary.

Anyone who would like to rank is free to use those tips. Go for it. If they ever fix this place.

this is not a hateful comment but merely a question...

why do you care about the rankings?

you already have a huge readership...

isn't that what bloggings suppose to be about?

writing and interaction with your readers?Photobucket

I wonder too!

Why is it about ranking?

I used to be a regular reader of Stephanie but deleted my profile (Classical Elegance) for personal reasons.  I since came back (low key) and didn't spend too much time following blogs.

Rather I just came to write those lousy four lines about something stupid or ridiculous in my life.   I write because my heart tells me to write.  I don't write for readers to kudo me or follow me or anything like that.

It seems that Stephanie ... sorry, but you were here for the wrong reasons.  Writing is a gift and you have that gift.  You should embrace it and share your words publically but not focus on how many people read or comment or even give you kudos.   Being able to impact just one persons life should be good enough.

Coqueto is a great writer as well.  I adore his writing but it's been a long time since I've been back to even read or comment on his page.   Nevertheless, he had an impact on my life at a certain time in my life and it will always be with me.   Weird I suppose!

Regardless... I hope you find what makes you happy in life and who knows, maybe one day I will see your writings again.

Thanks, Basil.

Just click on the Blogger link above and if you want to follow me, once you've joined when you go to my blog at the top you'll see "Follow Blog." Or you can just save it as a bookmark or keep coming back here! I'll leave this blog active for a while so people can find me.

Drama bloggers are a strange breed. I may be proven wrong that they don't exist on Blogger. The community over there is just different. Most of my readers are around my age, have families, are aspiring novelists. But then I'm finding them through the many literary agents' blogs I read, so maybe that's why! I just have this feeling MySpace is a sinking ship...and I want to get out BEFORE it starts heading downward. How many of us have complained to MySpace about the problem and still they've ignored us? That tells me everything I need to know about this site. The fact that we the bloggers don't have a voice with them tells me it's not a corporation I want any part of.

The only thing wrong with myspace (and I have blogged about this before) is that 'Tom' seems to keep stealing new ideas from facebook. Do we really need status comments, recommended friends based on mutual friends, IM regardless of if you want it or not, photo tagging, and all these stupid game applications?

Myspace is only declining because there are a generation who went straight to facebook, without using myspace, the poor souls! As soon as they get educated, and stop pretending to be vampires, then myspace will rise again!

Actually many of those my age and older are going straight to Facebook. People I never thought would use social networking, like my boyfriend's mom and older people at work. It's a more private place where you can post pictures and feel safe.

I just started using Facebook.  I stay on it ALL the time.   So does my bf, I'd never dreamt he'd make an account but he did and loves it.  He dont like myspace.
The only reason I come to Myspace anymore is to read yours and a few others blogs.  I will follow you on "Bloggers".  I hate that you are leaving Myspace, but I can understand.  I think a lot of it started with Love Never Fails.  I knew she was trouble.  She thinks she is cool and all, but she was one of my biggest PEEVES.
I truly wouldnt care if I were you about the rankings.  Everyone knows YOU are a top blogger and that you deserve that spot.  You put a lot of effort into your blogs, while others put a lot of effort into dissing your blogs.  I dont want the haters to think they 'won'.   You will be missed on myspace.

Actually, I never had a stalker until I joined FaceBook. I am not so sure how safe a person is over there.... It gives you a false sense of security.. Really does. until you set up major security walls that is. I learned a little to late. Then I saw my stalker being arrested on the TV news.. Feels a little weird...
