Manchester's INCASSUM have recently been on the receiving end of a glowing KKKK review for debut mini-album 'In Vain'.
In K# 1237 , Sam Law Wrote
INCASSUM - IN VAIN - KKKK FEMALE-FRONTED MANCHESTER MOB BRACINGLY BLEND MELODY AND MIGHT With heavy stylistic nods to both Arch Enemy and Lacuna Coil, Incassum's sound could well have come off muddled or even borderline-schizophrenic but it's a credit to the versatility of vocalist Sharleen Kennedy that this debut forms a coherent, uncompromised whole. Boasting a heavily Scandinavian-influenced, melodic sound and peppering affairs with moments of abrasive metalcore, tracks like titanic opener 'The Beckoning' and the labyrinth title-track showcase the full range; from sublime melody to black-metal thunder. While a meatier production and longer run-time would allow the band to more fully realise their sound, there's already plenty to get excited about here.
