How would you feel if an oil spill ruined your garden, polluted your water supply and meant it was much harder to make a living? This is the reality for many communities living in the Niger Delta.

Shell's damaging practices in this region have resulted in decades of pollution, killing the rivers and farmland that locals depend upon: Keeping them in poverty.

We want Shell to come clean about this, to stop the leaks, clean up the mess and publish data about their human rights impact in the region.

We need your help to make this a reality, so wake up your friends and get involved!

Hello there guys.I remember in 2005 in DUBLIN there wa a huge rally against corporates like shell and many others who have only been pilling countries like NIGER and its delta. I also remember i was coordinating DUBLIN CENTRAL GROUP and met a nigerian guy called OBI NCHEDO. I introduced him to someone in AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL IRISH SECTION and something got started. But it is NEVER enough.Since i came back from EIRE i hadnt heard anything .It has to be because of ITALY's interests in oil...sigh!
Last june i was watching one of my fav programs called REPORT and there you go MILENA GABANELLI looked ino and reported on all the dreadful things our western countries have done through the years to xploit AFRICAN COUNTRIES RESOURCES. Now it seems that even CHINA has put his grabbing hand on SUDAN's OIL.....
Anyhow i send you a few links of the program i mentionned above. Thanks to this BRAVEST woman and her coworkers ITALIANS (of good will) ARE TOLD THE TRUTH

Hello. This is what we need to be holding Shell and its employees accountable for. There own marketed responsibility. I think sometimes there's a very black and white picture drawn of energy or oil companies. If directors or finiciaers are the ones who are taking the cut and geeting other people to their dirty work this should be relatively obvious in the living conditions of their staff. I would say one of the best measures of a company's efficacy and ehtos is by how they treat their own employees and communities. I have not read all your literature yet, but this is the area I think you should target if you want to get effective results whether it be with Shell or any other large organisation, private or government.

After doing a bit of reading online and in the library I've found out some interesting facts. Trademarks that companies display next to their code of ethics should be honoured. I guess this could be applied to Shell, but really, it could be applied to any company where ethics have been ignored or infringed.

What's more it's specific to the problem rather than the company itself. Drawing good people in to arguments like this is unfair, just because they work for a certain company. [I'd like to stress I do not work for Shell.]

Many large compaines display a defined code of ethics, I guess for every single employee to follow them exactly would be difficult. I think what is more of a probelms is specific areas where targetted abuse has repeatedly been occuring. So in this case, living conditions. Described in science as being chronic.

As respect to trading of oil , I'm unsure. Unsure because I'm sure this particular law is addressed by another and then another depending on all kinds of things. For example if there is legal war occuring in a country.
