A recent blog post of mine was featured as one of the most popular on MySpace. Getting featured can mean more visiblity here on MySpace as well as making some great new connections. Many of you messaged me asking, "how can I get my blog post(s) featured on MySpace?

So without further ado here are 5 ways to get a blog post featured on MySpace:

1) Create controversy
-Give people something to talk about. Take a stand on an issue that your friends/readers care about. My featured blog post, for example, took a strong stand against incompetent fellow PR people, it definitely lead to some great debate in the comments section (as well as being featured on MySpace).

2) Post edgy pictures/movies
-This blog post was featured simply because it includes pics of nearly nude women in their undergarments

3) Make 30,000+ MySpace friends
-A simple blog post titled "I’m Back!!" by American Idol sweetheart Danny Noriega was featured simply because he has lots of friends on MySpace. Many friends means lots of readers, which means a featured post on MySpace.

4) Post about a holiday
-By wishing her readers a Happy Easter, this MySpace user generated lots of reads and comments, as well as getting featured.

5) Blog about getting featured on MySpace
-The jury is still out on 5, but hey, let’s see if this blog post does get featured as one of the most popular on MySpace.

If you have any additional suggestions for getting a blog post featured on MySpace, by all means include them in the comments section!

Even if u have like 100 friends that do read blogs and do interract with em I think are enough to make it the best at least on myspace. Ofcourse finding 100 quality people + that know and care about every subject that you post. I see many quality posts in the blog section (ok not that many) but they are on the bottom. Why? Because the friends of those people arent really into blogging:)
Ofcourse in no way i undermine your posts which I read 2-3 times at least when you post em. But you get publicity from the people and people as you yourself said are the ones that make the blogs popular. Dont forget that many people with no value have been popular because of the crowd they gather and the marketing theyhave. For example all your posts should have been in the best of but they aint because at the same day some beautiful girl posted a blog with: Message me and give me Kudos to send you nude pics.... You see where I am going with it:)
Keep your posts up mate. Its always a great honor to read someone else's golden mind. You have earned my respect so really all your posts are a peak in your mind.

I compiled this list for everyone's benefit, companies, niche bloggers like myself, attention seekers, etc. It's an interesting "competition" and while I don't write to get featured, it's an interesting byproduct. Also, as you mentioned, it's interesting to observe the wide range of people who do get featured.

Thank you for providing this information. I am looking for ways to use social media with relation to my work for a government contractor. Trying, I should say to bring them out of the dark ages. I may very well try some of your suggestions, though I doubt very seriously that scantily clad women would be an option for us.
