I'm restraining myself from writing this entire entry in caps. I'm am EXTREMELY excited.. eep.. sorry for the caps.. I'm just so fucking happy!!!! sdlkgjakewhgkjwehg!!

I will personally congratulate you if you read all of this.

Righto, so here's what happened.

Leslie, Sabrina, Julian and I had tickets for the Sunday gig, but not the Saturday gig because most of the tickets were sold Pre-Sale and to organisations and given away in competitions.. so we missed out on getting tickets for the Saturday.. BUT we got Oval A tickets for the Sunday.. which is right in front of the stage, so we were happy.
So we arrived on the Saturday at 5pm - when the gates were being opened for that nights gig. 80,000 people walked into the stadium.. while we sat on a picnic blanket - prepared to spend over 24 hours in the sun waiting to see Robbie.
Come 8:15 it's already dark.. we could here the chanting as the crowd in the stadium called for this one man, then finally... it started. We could see the fireworks and smell the smoke form the fire. (Don't know if you've ever seen Close Encounters Of The Third Kind but if you have, you'll know the tune they play to the aliens.. well.. this entire world tour was based on the whole 'UFO' kinda thing.. so the stage was HUGE and looked like a massive UFO with hundreds of lights, search lights, fire shooting up from the stage, fireworks, smoke and massive screens.)
Anyway.. if you know the tune, thats how it starts.. and the suspense kills you. Just imagine the set - it's the biggest stage production Australia has EVER seen! (yeah, U2 you're great and all.. but GET A LOAD OF THIS!!!@!)
So I could hear the countdown...
It got to one...
screaming..
louder screaming..

Robbie's voice... "he's chosen my attic, I feel it in the static.." ..singing 'Radio'.

me!? well.. I'm outside the stadium.. listening.. SHAKING like mad. I'm outside while he's inside. So close - yet so fucking far. I couldn't sit still. I had to get up and move around. Imagine being completely.. obsessed with a person for years and not being able to see him the last time he was here.. then being so close to him.. being able to hear his voice.. but not being able to see him. ARGHH.. it's horrible!!!

alas... a god there must be.

one of the workers came out and walked over to us with a smile on his face.

worker - "Hey, so you guys have been here for a while right?"
us - "since five"
worker - "here for tomorrows gig?"
us - "Yep."
worker - "I can only let one of you in.."
us - :|:|:|:| "...err?"
worker - "who's the biggest fan here?"
*everyone points to me*
worker - *pulls out ticket and puts it in my hand tells me which gate to go in and to hurry*

I'll never forget his face. He was bald... and had a really friendly face.. and a nice smile, he was young too.
So I grabbed the ticket and thanked him and ran to the gate where the lady took at look at my ticket and told me where to go. It was a seated ticket so I didn't have to worry about being at the back of the crowd.
I finally got to my seat, turned around.. and saw him.. standing there... singing.
Robbie Williams... in the flesh.
If you know me... you know what that would've done to me.. seeing him in person. god.

So he was singing 'Advertising Space' and I couldn't take my eyes off the set. The stage was HUGE.. I mean I had seen it in his latest DVD so I knew what it looked like.. but MY GOD.. it was AMAZING!! I've never seen anything like it. Next, the lights turned red.. and Claire (Robbie's keys player) smashed those keys to the beginning of 'Feel'.
After feel he sang 'Come Undone'.. which at the end was mixed into another song where he got the audience to sing in the background while he introduced his band one by one.. cracking jokes about each. "This is Neil everyone... he's 147 years old.."..... "and on keyboards and mini-skirts.. the lovely Claire"... "the man, who without him Intensive Care would not have happened... Mr Steven Duffy".
It went on like that..
He said goodnight and bowed.. thanked the audience then ran back stage.

five minutes went by... "robbie.... robbie.. robbie.. robbie.."
Robbie's band comes back out.. it's pitch black.. the screens turn a fluro-sreet green and his back up singers cast silhouettes as they pretend to fight in front of the screens.
Claire bashes the keys once again... its the beginning of 'that' song..
the one that gets you pumped even if you're not a Robbie fan..
the spot light hits the very top of the stage... there's a tiny man up there.. in a white, Adidas jacket with his hood on.. covering his face... crowd goes nuts..
"Hell is gone and heavens here there's nothing left for you to fear, shake your ass come over here NOW SCREAM...I'm a burning effigy of everything I used to be..you're my rock of empathy, my dear.. so come on LET MEEEEEE ENTERTAIN YOU"
He gets on this crane thing which lowers him down in a cage where he gets off on the stage and continues singing.. fire being blown up from the sides of the stage.
Halfway through the song he gets you to jump.. and I whacked the dude next to me really hard.. HAHA.. sorry mate :D
After the song he started RudeBox.. it absolutely rocked.. the stage looked amazing.. green, red and yellow lights.. amazing.

he talked a bit, cracked some jokes.. then asked the audience some questions before started 'Angels'...
which meant... mobile phones.. lighters... glow sticks and anything else that stood out were whipped out and held in the air.. swaying as we too were singing.

This, being the one song that gave me goosebumps every single time I'd seen him do it live on DVD's... naturally... I cried. ME.. CRY!?!?!?... don't tell anyone or i'll break your legs.
After the song he got emotional and said goodnight.. bowed... bowed with his band... stopped... walked up the to microphone... "one more!.. just one more"

*crowd goes nuts*

"you be Kylie i'll be Robbie.. THIS IS 'KIDS'!!"

obviously - crowd went wild.

he finished the song.. bowed.. said goodnight.. and some other sweet stuff then said "see some of you tomorrow night, i'm off to get some sleep." then ran off stage.

I walked out of the stadium with 70,999 other people and met up with Leslie, Sabrina and Julz and told them all about it.
We set up our bed (a blanket on the concrete and one over us) and got 2 hours sleep max.. before we got up and waited for HOURS in the boiling heat...
dad and mum met up with us at 11am and we put all our blankets and bags in the car to avoid bag checks. We were RIGHT at the front of the line... of another 80,000 people. WOOT. Imagine knowing you're possibly the BIGGEST fucking Robbie fan in Sydney. Dedication's what you need folks!!
So it got to 4pm... gates were to open at 5. Everybody stood up and moved forward. Lucky for us, the first 30 or 40 people the early birds) were closed off from the rest.. so we all were guaranteed a front row spot. How tops is that!?

so the opened the gates and we got in.. we were told not to run.. PFFFTT..
got our wrist bands slapped on us and got right in front of the stage.
job.
well.
done.
24 hours of lining up - well worth it.

The show was fucking amazing. He talked heaps.. made us laugh.. made us do things.. did a couple of duets with his best mate Jonny Wilkes, including a Beegees song.
Ran around the stage, danced, ripped his shirt open, flashed his bum, pretended to be jesus, made fun of take that, did the running man, mucked around, sang beautifully, rocked out hard and got emotional.

Robbie Williams.. I love you.

pictures? YAY PICTURES... sorry for the shittyness.. but my camera is NOT the best atm.
please do have a look at the pictures though.

oh and this is the result of bordem while in line - drawing Robbie's logo on my hand and going over it and over it so it's really thick and doesn't come off.. then when it's eventually washed off.. and you can see your tan line..this is what you get...

when I’m feeling weak
and my pain walks down a one way street
I look above
and I know ill always be blessed with love
and as the feeling grows
she breathes flesh to my bones
and when love is dead
I’m loving angels instead
