In her book "When Things Fall Apart", Pema Chodron tells a story about her teacher, Trungpa Rinpoche. Rinpoche was travelling on foot with some fellow monks. They encountered a wild dog, who was poised to attack. The party was not going to be able to outrun the vicious animal. Rinpoche, applying his philosophy about fear, ran directly at the dog. Surprisingly, the beast was so shocked that it took off running in the opposite direction.

McCain and Palin want us to believe that THEY are the Mavericks who can bring about change and reform in Washington. Seriously?

McCain has voted with Bush more than 90% of the time. Voting for McCain would not mean that we would get four more years of Bush. But I don't think the United States can endure even four more years of 90% of Bush.

Both Democrats and Republicans are running on platforms of "CHANGE." Everyone agrees that the course that Bush and the Republicans have put us on over the last 7 years hasn't worked. Our foreign policy is a disaster. Our economy is on the skids.

Bush's RADICAL fiscal policy of cutting taxes and expanding the budget has nearly ruined our economy. McCain wants to make those tax cuts permanent. McCain wants to stay the course indefinitely in Iraq. McCain's foreign, economic, energy, health care and environmental policies are essentially the SAME as Bush's. He's from the SAME party, the Republicans! McCain/Palin and the Republicans are NOT agents of change. They are NOT the Mavericks or Reformers in this picture. A vote for McCain is NOT a vote for change, no matter how many times the Republicans say it is.

I'm sorry. You can't put Lipstick on a Pit Bull and just call it a Hockey Mom. There is a difference and it's more than cosmetic. Somebody is lying.

The Pit Bull might look fierce, but I think it's time to run at the dog!
