Modo atual: poderoso
Hi. If you attempt to keep up with our band, then you know that we have been giving away our new ep "Meat Market". (that and the rest of our catalog)
I figured since its been floating around the internet for a few weeks now, that I might as well post all the important info on it. So here we go:
We tracked "Meat Market" in about a week in Van Nuys, CA at a studio called Big Game Lodge. This happened in late January/early February 2009. The ep consists of 5 songs, and clocks in a little bit longer then 16 minutes. Joby J. Ford produced it, and played some mean tamborine as well as some guitars on "Meat Market". He also plays guitar in The Bronx, and that band owns the Big Game Lodge. Joby invited his friend Beau to engineer the ep. Beau plays guitar in a band called Saosin.
Those guys know how to record rock music better then the average dude.
The songs we recorded:
1. Invitateli Lentamente 2. Meat Market 3. BC76 4. Applewhite 5. Food For The Rats
If you downloaded our last full length album "Red Hands in Holy Water" - you will notice that Food For The Rats is also on that album. We reworked it, spiced-er up, and our friend Brad came in and threw a whole bunch of trumpet on it. Brad also play trumpet in El Bronx, and bass in The Bronx.
We are extremely proud of our new baby ep. Its the peak of our work as musicians at this point in time and we hope you enjoy it, and share it with your friends.
So, head to www.brightlightfever.com and the code "giveittome" and get it. For free. Also available on that website are the following albums:
"Red Hands In Holy Water" - Our attempt at a concept album about a made up cult in Spain. Recorded at Springer Road with family and friends. It would have been impossible without the help of John B. from local studio The Hanger. Released in 2008.
"Bright Light Fever Presents: The Evening Owl" - This was our first album. Released shortly after we signed to Stolen Transmission/Island/Def Jam in 2006. Joby Ford also produced this. Our good friend Robert Cheek engineered it. Recorded for a ridiculously large amount of money at The Hanger in Sacramento.
"Rarities" - Jerbot threw this together. Its a collection of rare blf tracks, home recordings, remixes, acoustic versions, b-sides, etc. We'll probably keep adding to it.
To some it up, we're giving your our artistic life works. Absolutely free. We make music, and hope people listen to it and take something from it like we do from our favorite bands.
At live shows, we will be selling download cards for $5. Yes, we know you can obtain all our music online - directly from us - for free. We think of that $5 as a donation, and the cards are cool. You can pass it around to anyone you think might like it.
Maybe we'll print an actual cd in the future....maybe we won't. Maybe it will be on vinyl? Maybe we'll keep recording digital eps? Maybe I'll fucking direct a beam of musical energy right into your brain and turn it up real loud. No one else will be able to hear it but you.
Thanks for giving a shit XO Matt & BLF
