Unity is when diverse individuals rally around a common cause, belief or interest(Or topic of interest)
The trouble I have living in Chicago is unity is confused with clique-ing off. If there was TRUE scene unity, there wouldn't be the rivalry and divisions, that have riddled the punk scene here for over 30  years.
