Conference: Celebrating great achievements; or missed opportunities? Looking back at 20 years of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child
At this conference on Friday 20th November at Oval Cricket Club in London, you'll have the chance to talk about children's rights with other young people and adults, do a children's rights quiz, and play UNCRC prize bingo! Exhibition: Growing up without violence
Our friends at the Churches Network for Non-Violence are running a touring exhibition about ending violence against children. We are working with them to make sure that children and young people in the places the exhibition visits have the chance to be involved. The exhibition visited Cambridge in July and its next stop, in November 2009, is in Coventry. So if you live nearby, click here to find out more - and if not, watch this space to find out where we'll be next! News Free activities for schools and groups We've recently created a special new activity pack for schools. It contains ideas for activities to help groups of young people learn more about legalised violence against children and think about how things could be different. It's designed for schools, but youth groups and other groups can use it too. It's completely free. Take a look at it - and if you like it, why not tell your teacher or group leader about it? Don't forget, we also offer free visits to schools and youth groups - so if you want us to come and run these or other activities for you, then get in touch! We recommend... All over the world, young people like you are campaigning against corporal punishment (including smacking). A new website to tell you all about them has just been launched! Find out how young people from countries from New Zealand to Mongolia and Uganda to Indonesia have been changing things in their own countries and communities. Take a look at it here: http://www.endcorporalpunishment.org/children.html
And finally... We are always happy to hear from our supporters - so if you have any questions, comments or ideas for us, just get in touch!
