Lo-fi mopey pop artist Kupek has released a new digital single, featuring none other than me: famous Jesse Dangerously! There are a few things that are interesting about this:
- The song deals with the modern cult of celebrity, and how the media colludes with regular folk to make punching bags out of strangers just for having the audacity to be recognizable.
- It can also be about how jerks and even your friends can treat you like crap on the internet.
- It can also be that it is a very, very good-sounding song!
- Bad DJ Budget Cuts shows up to throw a few scratches down.
- "Kupek" is the musical alter-ego of comics juggernaut Bryan Lee O'Malley, creator and sole creative force behind the new landmark series "Scott Pilgrim." I am not joking when I say that shooting just wrapped on the film adaptation of his books, and that the film is directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Spaced) and stars Michael Cera (y'all know the name!).
So go and download it for free, why don't you? Right here:
