Here are a bunch of unreleased live recordings, some come from radio broadcasts, some are from soundboard tapes of shows. You won't find this on any CDs. I figure some of you guys will enjoy this stuff. The sound quality is not pristine, but it is very listenable and the music is great. Each one is in an individual zip file hosted on Rapidshare* and can be downloaded for free without any registration or passwords.

The first is a 3-song BBC radio broadcast of Son House from 1970:

The second is a 1964 broadcast from WTBS-FM (Cambridge MA) featuring
brief interviews and three songs apiece from Mississippi John Hurt and
Skip James.:

Here's a complete 2-set performance by Johnny Shines recorded in Tacoma
WA at the Court Coffeehouse in 1970. The first set is solo acoustic,
and on the somewhat murky sounding second set he is playing electric
and is accompanied by an unknown washtub bass player!

A 17-song set by Mississippi John Hurt at the NYU School of Medicine Alumni Hall in 1963:

Here's a full Fred McDowell show recorded in Tacoma Washington in 1971. Two sets.

Mance Lipscomb in 1972 at the Harvard Dining Hall in Cambridge MA. 12 tunes, nice clear sound:

Here is a Robert Pete Williams show recorded in 1970. Sorry but I do NOT have the set list or info for this one, sorry, I just know that it was recorded 1970-04-20 at "PSU" but I don't know if that's Portland State U. or Penn State U., but I am fairly certain it isn't Prince Sultan University haha.

Last but not least, Rev. Gary Davis - 11 songs (and a few spoken
interludes) recorded during the course of two nights at the Friends
Center in Seattle WA in 1967:

Also...if anyone is interested...here's two solo acoustic Ry Cooder shows:

* For those who don't know, Rapidshare is a free file hosting site you can download from (and upload to) without paying anything or acquiring any kind of membership or log-in information or passwords.
Paying for a membership only increases your download speed, allows
simultaneous downloads, and removes the nuisance of having to wait
between downloads. No one has to sign up or pay for anything. It is just a network of servers, it is not a "peer to peer" site, it won't give you any viruses or spyware.
Just thought I should make that clear.
For those who have never used the site before, click "free user"
(below the "speedometer" graphic on the LEFT) and wait until the
"download" link appears (usually about a minute). If you don't have a membership you can only download one file at a time, and you may be asked to wait a certain period of time between downloads.
Yes, it is a nuisance, but it is free.
