Who Gives Kudos:

February 26, 2007 - Monday

Last night was the best night of my life. The whole atmosphere of being somewhere that you know that you're with people that are similar to you in some way. Unlike at school when people make fun of you for having your hair a certain way, or for liking a certain musical group. My Chem addressed that last night. Saying to never take shit from people and to just be yourself and never change for anyone or for any reason.

The whole day, I spent, counting down to when the concert was and getting ready for it. Carlie and me started getting ready around two. We dyed our hair red and black. She had red and black streaks and I had red on top and black tips. It looked really good, and still did when I got up this morning, the rest of me looked like shit. I had my nails done red and black, and all seven of the piercings in my ears, had red or black earrings, except for my first hole, which had guitar earrings. We also had to get dressed. I had a duct tape knee (anyone who has watched Life On the Murder Scene can probably figure this one out), safety pins (why are they called safety pins? They aren't safe!) And a My Chem band T. I ended up wearing my old pants, that have holes all over the place. And I also had an X over my left eye. And it wasn't drawn with any cheap eyeliner, we used something even better.

On the car ride there, we had The Black Parade playing. It was getting us excited, and more happy than we already were. We also had energy drinks. Carlie had an Amp (which I think tastes horrible) and I had a Full Throttle Fury (which I think the original is better). We really think that Frankie should make him own energy drink. He has so much energy on stage, it's amazing. But I don't think he had very much last night, or as much as I had hoped. The idea of going to the concert never, and still hasn't, sunk in. It just doesn't feel real to me. It is the best thing that has ever happened to me (Other than Nick, of course)!

The opening act was Rise Against. I actually knew some of the songs. I had heard them before, somewhere. They are really good, not as good as My Chemical Romance, but they were good. My seat was section 700, row SS, seat 709. It was kind of far back, but you could see everything, and it was in front of the stage. Standing up, you could see everything perfectly.

During intermission, Carlie, Katelyn, and me, went to get some shirts. It was difficult because we are all short, and having a tall person with us, would have made things so much easier. But we did end up with two shirts. Carlie got one with the towers on it, and I got one with girls doing Can-Cans. They are really cool. We got different ones, so that we can switch.

On our way back to our seats, me and Katelyn wanted Monsters. So, we each got one. She got the last one of the green one. And I ended up with the orange one. It was really good. Katelyn was running up the stairs, and after getting told not to drink it while walking/running, and being told not to dump it, what does she do?! Dump it! It was really funny. But then we had to run to get to our seats, because the concert was starting. But, during Famous Last Words, mine got dumped while being on the ground. It probably got dumped while I jumping around or something. But it dumped all over the My Chem shirt that I had worn there, and took off because I got really hot. It dumped all over my digital camera, so one shutter won't shut, and the other has to be pried open. Carlie's sweatshirt also has Monster all over it.

The concert started off with a corpse, and a gurney. Gerard was the corpse. So he started to sing The End. Then the curtains opened and you could see Ray, Bob, Frankie, and Mikey. All rocking out their hardest, to put on a show for their fans. They went through the entire Black Parade album in order. During 'I Don't Love You', I almost cried. That song just has bad memories for certain reasons. But, I was at the best concert, my first concert, put on by my favorite band, and it was the happiest night of my life. Therefor, nothing was going to ruin my fun. 'Famous Last Words' got ruined by the Monster being dumped. But, I still was paying attention to the music, not getting mad that everything was disgusting and sticky. And the fire added to the whole affect. I'm just glad that no one got burned by it, like when My Chem was making the video for it. 'Welcome To The Black Parade' was the best song ever. The whole song is beautiful and I absolutely love it! It was incredible. The band seemed to play their heart out during that song. 'Blood' came on, as a recording so that the band could get changed out of their Black Parade outfits.

They came back on stage and played 'I'm Not Ok (I Promise)' (I've listened to it 257 times, the most played song on my itunes). Everyone was screaming their lungs off. I was singing my heart out. That song is just perfect. And every time, I think of the music video, and the duct tape knee. They played a few more songs from Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, and ended with 'Helena'. It was just perfect. The whole night was perfect.

The entire time, I was standing up, singing my heart out, even though I think that I sing really badly. I could sing as loud as I want to without being told to shut up. Or be made fun of for what I was singing to. I would scream at the top of my lungs, in high pitch, after each song played, feeling happier and happier as the night went on. And by the end of the night, I was really hoarse and my throat hurt really badly. But I didn't care one bit. The one thing that was annoying, was all the people with the cell phones. Cell phones are annoying and lighters are way better. My Chem even thinks so. There was this cute couple two rows in front of me, with lighters. And me and Carlie kept saying that they were cool.

And at the end of the concert, I was kind of sad that it was over. I wanted them to keep playing. And to play something from Bullets. And when Gerard told everyone "thanks for coming!" I was thinking "You shouldn't be thanking us, we should be thanking you."

Their music is incredible. I love every song. Even if I don't like it at first, I fall in love with it later. And you have to think about the lyrics in order to get it. My mom isn't a fan of them, she pretty much hates their music. She was talking to me and Carlie about it before we got picked up. Questioning why we dressed they way we dressed, why we did our makeup the way we did it, and then was asking about the music. Carlie's uncle was also asking about it. Saying how it seems to be about death and depressing things. But it's not. And he was also asking about the name "My Chemical Romance". So we had to explain how Mikey came up with the name. But then he asked what significance it had to the band. So then we had to explain how it had to do with Gerard and his addiction to anti-depressants and later drugs and alcohol. But the band stands for something more. It's all anti about stuff like that. You shouldn't use death as a way to get away from everything. That drugs wont fix things and stuff. And, a great quote from the band "We're a band that wants to save your life..."
