Hi friends-
Hope everyone had a great holiday season! I had a wonderful time spending Christmas with some friends in Denver and have finally started a full recovery from being sick with bronchitis for so long. I will be out doing shows again soon and will also be re-planning a 3-4 week trip to Nashville to try and find a good producer for my next project. I will also be working ..ing my album as well.
Soooooo.........I got a myspace message today from someone who had seen me play in Estes Park, CO a few months ago (August?) and she told me she wrote a blog about me. To make a long story short (which is always hard for me lol), I was playing at Mary's Lake Lodge and a couple there who had been watching my act approached me during one of my breaks. They said they were impressed with my performance asked if I could perform at their wedding vow renewal ceremony the next morning. I hesitantly accepted (being as I had never done a wedding before) and the next morning I ended up playing outside next to a beautiful tree-lined river for a small crowd at the ceremony. I think I had 2-3 hours of sleep and looked like something that had just climbed out of a dumpster lol. I had no idea if anyone would dig my performance, if for nothing else that I was so tired and wasn't sure how well my performance would come across.
Well, it ended up turning out good after all, as I ended up selling CDs and everyone there was very nice to me. The bride and groom were even nice enough to treat me for lunch back at Mary's Lake. It was there that I was able to sit down and have a conversation with some of the guests, including Michelle, who ended up writing the blog that I've linked to here. Everyone was very nice and I really enjoyed our conversations. I am flattered that Michelle took the time to write about me and wanted to say thanks again to her!
Here the link to her blog entitled "Wild about Jason": http://michellehix.blogspot.com/2009/01/wild-about-jason.html (NOTE: You'll have to cut and paste this link because Myspace has gotten so ridiculous that they actually consider this link "dangerous" !!!)
Cheers and Happy 2009!
Jason
