Maddie Georgi of Pittsburgh will make her first trip to Johnstown to perform at the Flood City Music Festival Aug. 22 from 3:30-4:30 p.m on the Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Stage.

"It"s funny to watch the audience turn to each other," she said, describing what happens when she announces to crowds that she is only 16-years-old.

Compared to the likes of Taylor Swift and Sheryl Crow, Georgi"s talent as a singer/songwriter has been a success story in the making since she began to sing in school musicals at the age of 7.

Situated behind her guitar and a microphone, Georgi began to play her first gigs at open mic nights in Pittsburgh. Soon she was in the recording studio -- and the results of those recording sessions can be heard on her first EP, "Go."
