Greetings everyone!
Just got done with my morning episode of Radiolab...which I absolutely love right now...I'm just now discovering it so I have lots of episodes to catch up on. Today I had my diet coke and listened about stochasticity (randomness)...then read a little of "The Diary of Anais Nin" (as much as her stories made me feel too pervy, the writing in her diaries is exquisite) and the new Rolling Stone issue (I'd really like to see them go back to putting musicians on the cover) ... and now I'm writing to ya'll!
We've got 3 shows opening for the Avett Brothers coming up this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday! (
Memphis,
Little Rock, and
Tulsa)
I want to elaborate on the Tulsa show a bit....this is going to be such a fun night! First of all its my first HOMESTATE show since February (I think) so we hope to see a lot of familiar faces...I know it's kinda a pricey ticket to come see a local band BUT we promise to put on an awesome show for ya'll plus its at such a beautiful venue! Cain's Ballroom!
Second, Sterlin Harjo (a seriously talented writer and director from Tulsa and good friend of ours), will be filming the show and some crowd footage and interviews for a bangin' video he's gonna put together....so if you wanna put in your two cents, come out and put your face in front of one of the cameras! I really want to show The Avett Brothers how amazing my fellow Oklahomies are, so go have some BBQ at Knotty Pine and then come out and have a stompin' good time.
I keep having dreams about mud lately...I rather like it and hope that at some point in my life I can go swimming in a pool of mud...thin watery mud because I don't really want to drown.
I can't wait to get home and see the prints I ordered from Jon Duenas (
www.jonduenas.com). It's rare that I get really excited about a photographer (save the Miss Sam Lamb and the Dear Melissa Madison Fuller) but I love Jon's work...they look almost like little paintings to me.
Alrighty...so long and thanks for the sing-a-long at Bristol Rhythm and Roots!
