| | Anesthetic Clothing: Fashion At Its Finest Interview: January 2007 | What is your business about? The Crew at Anesthetic Clothing tries to bring a little something different to the table and to your wardrobe for that matter. Bringing to the public what people want to wear. Our goal is to reach people with varying personalities, styles, and outlooks on fashion. How did you get started? One day we both just decided it's 'now or never', put everything we had into it, and just went for it. We drew our designs, ordered our clothing, and started printing. Dreams of AC just reaching our local community have reached to the other side of the world. Our company has grown since day one and continues to keep growing everyday. Prior to your business, what were you doing? With an eye and talent for business, Kristin was managing an art gallery and hotel. Aaron was and presently is working for a local print shop (First Gear) as a screen printing manager. Even before our company was actually established, we were drawing, dreaming, and building for the future. It was always a goal we strived to accomplish, but never imagined it coming to life in the way that it has. Where does your business specifically fit in its industry? Each piece of clothing is original and handmade for each of our customers. Using vintage fabrics, unconventional print placement, and unique designs offer buyers multiple options. All of these aspects allow our clothing to be interchangeable between formal, casual, and everyday wear. Which clients have you had? Our main client base has been people interested in music scenes and cultures, mainly in hiphop, drum'n'bass and punk. But our clothing line isn't just limited to those music genres. We want to reach everyone! If you like Anesthetic Clothing then we want you wearing it. What makes your company unique compared to the competition? Grassroots is what we're about. All designs and prints are hand done by the Anesthetic Crew. It's straight from us to you (the customer). Always striving to produce and combine fashionable gear with everyday comfort. Our clothing doesn't just look great, it feels great. Anesthetic offers a men, women, and accessory line with a variety of garments, colors, and designs in each. How has the journey of the company been? Things have been great so far. We literally came from nothing and it has taken a lot of hard work from both of us, but the wheels keep turning. We've had an enormous positive response from the public and are still in our first year of operation. Doors are opening for us that we thought would be locked for years to come. Where do you see your company going in five years? We hope to have our own store front and be distributing to many more retailers across the world. We want to continue to expand our roster of sponsored artists and start holding and contributing to weekly/monthly events to showcase their talents. As far as the clothing, the designs are just going to keep coming. We won't get stale and will always have something new each season. Where do you see the industry going in five years? Designers and clothing makers are pushing the envelope with every new release these days; in the near future we will really begin to see the results of this forward movement in fashion. The clothing industry is growing rapidly and we will just be getting into the thick of it five years from now. | |
