Hello again!
It's been so long since last we talked, and we've missed you! But
that's what happens when you spend more time looking at the light from
a Pro Tools rig than the light of day. After three EPs (good luck
finding the first one), we're excitedly recording our first full-length
album in Brooklyn. Most of the basic tracks are done, and we're getting
ready to add in all of the exciting extras (things like glockenspiel,
cabasa, and various explosions). We're not sure exactly when you'll
hear it. But we can tell you we're excited about it!
In the meantime, we thought it'd be fun to show you some of our crazy
antics by adding a slew of photos to our newly updated
Facebook page. And now you can keep up
with us via Twitter
@thekingleft too. Plus, Mark has agreed to
blog every time he gets a new pedal. So, you're ensured at least one
Mark post per week!
We're also excited to announce two upcoming shows previewing some of
the new material and even premiering some songs for the very first
time. One is Sunday, April 26th at Bowery Poetry Club. It's a special
event called POPROCKS. We'll be appearing alongside Violens. The show
is all ages, and starts at 2pm. The good 'ol Sunday matinee. Get
advance tickets at TicketWeb.
Finally, we'll be playing The Deli Magazine's Best Of NYC Festival on
May 6th at Southpaw in Brooklyn (this one takes place at night). We'll
be joined by Elizabeth and The Catapult, Lowry, April Smith, Kaiser
Cartel, and Mia Riddle. Tickets are $10 at the door.
2009 is going to be a great year. I predict it'll be kind of like a
parabola, actually. Or maybe it's a sine curve? Whichever one starts
out kinda surreptitiously and then blam!
