I've been ruthlessly deleting MySpace friends lately... things are just way too cluttered-up around here, I can't find my actual friends anymore! So if I deleted you by mistake, just send me a note and reapply. Why would I do such a thing? I dunno, maybe I did it because I got annoyed that you cluttered up the bulletin board with some dumbass survey thing. Or maybe hackers got into your account and posted some bullshit, and I don't want to have hacked accounts on my friends list. Or maybe you're promoting some book that I would never read, or some business I've never patronized. Or maybe you're some New Country artist and I'm sorry but I don't give a crap about your music! Or maybe you have fifty jillion friends already, and judging by your profile you have absolutely no connection to the indie-folk-whatever circles that I travel in. So I have no idea why you applied to be my friend in the first place... maybe you're just adding people at random? Which is fine, if I like you. Anyway I hope I haven't hurt anyone's feelings by deleting them. If I have I apologize, just send a message and reapply.

p.s. I don't think I've ever deleted anyone who has my name in their favorite-music list. I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin'...

Ummm, Edith, I think people just added you because they like your music.  Favorite music list or no.  Luckily, you didn't delete me -- not a friend, just a big fan.

I actually deleted you Edith, from my regular-old no-music mySpace because there was just nothing for you there. But thankfully you agreed to add my new music page and at least we share something in common now. I do love your music, especially 'Calling Over Time'. That will always be my favourite album of yours I think. It's inevitable that you're gonna have to delete folk at one point or other!

I'm no longer accepting band requests.  I was getting deluged, so fuck it!!!  If I see a band out there I know and/or like, I'll just add 'em myself.

I'm going to request your friendship because your music is money. Hopefully this will be nice.. but if I get deleted then I don't know how I'll take it. Hell I guess I could always be outright rejected to begin with.. that would suck.

If I've deleted you *lately*, it's probably because your account got hacked and they posted a spam comment to my profile. That's pretty much the only reason I'm deleting anyone anymore.

I don't care as much as I used to about the other above-mentioned complaints... there are better places to go now than MySpace so it's not as frustrating for me as it used to be. virb.com/edith

hey, i'm going to be sending you a request again. i had you on here before but deleted all bands. but now i'm adding artists again. and i want to have you on my friends list to remind me to listen to the rest of your stuff. i've always only listend to "emergency" and "cars & parties".. two great songs, but i'm sure there's more from where that came!!

Just so's you know, I'm not culling my friends anymore. I guess it was a phase, and now I don't really give a damn. And whoever applies gets added unless they're totally blatant spammers.

I do still delete people if their account gets compromised and the hacker tries to spam my profile comments... however, it's weird: I'm not getting those every day like I used to! Maybe they tightened up security around here, or maybe more people are getting wise and using stronger passwords.

Speaking of which, if you're on a Mac I HIGHLY recommend using 1Password. It's wonderful, it hooks into your browser so you can use super strong passwords with a bunch of funky symbols and never even have to think about it. I have it synced to my iPhone too so I can have them with me when I'm away from my computer. The newest version makes logins totally automatic on the iPhone just like they are on the desktop.
