 Happy Holidays, everyone! I recently moved my studio and offices OUT of Los Angeles and up to beautiful southern Oregon where supernatural music has been pouring out of me non-stop since I got up here. It's hard to put into words, but it's like something else plugs into me and the music just comes out. I've written more songs since I've been up here than I did in the whole last year I was in Los Angeles, and I've got so much new material it's crazy. And you know what the best part is? Every song seems better to me than the last. I guess you could say that this is a really exciting time for me as an artist! :)
I have so much to share with all of you - too much to go into here - so be sure to join my mailing list on my website so I can keep you in the loop. I don't post a lot of blogs here on MySpace, but I want to let everyone know that the time is coming - soon - when my new album is going to be released! You may have noticed that I added a couple new photos to the left side of my MySpace page. They were shot by Larry White. Hope you like them. Unfortunately I made a little boo-boo when I was editing my profile, and I accidentally deleted 'Over Now' from my MySpace player. I know there were over 100 people who had that song on their profile, and now it's gone. Guess you guys will have to add it again. Sorry about that. :( And yes, I noticed I can have up to 6 songs in the player now. Oh boy! But if you want to hear them so badly, why don't you just buy the record, I ask you?! Go get it on my website, www.christineanderson.net. Everytime I sell a record, I get that much closer to releasing the new one. And stop asking about the new one unless you own the current one, boys and girls. Tsk! Tsk!
Well, okay okay okay... *lol* I'll tell you a little bit. ;) I really don't want to give anything away (shh!), but I don't mind saying that the new recordings will be primarily me and the piano, because that's what I doooooo, and I'm going to incorporate some instrumental arrangements into parts of certain songs. Some songs will be just naked piano/vocal since that's the truth of me. When I'm alone with the piano, that's when the angels come down and anoint me with song. That's when the magic happens. And if I've learned anything from all my experience, it's that you don't mess with a good thing. :) But still, it's fun to grow and experiment.
And while I understand that you're anxious to hear what I've been up to (heck, I've seen the fan mail), please believe me when I say that I'm just as anxious as you are to get it all finished. Consider this: I've been waiting my whole life to make this album. So please be patient and supportive while I make everything happen. I've grown so much as a singer since recording Live Summer Session that I know the time in between the records was good for me.
Right now I have about three albums worth of new material... and I put a lot of songs on an album (Live Summer Session had 17)... so you'll probably see a couple records happen pretty close together. Then will you all be happy?! Hehe.
Ok, I love you guys. I really do. Every time a song comes out of me, I think to myself what my fans would think, and I hope my music comforts and inspires you.
