WOOHOO!
a super-awesome co-worker of mine recently picked up another truck (65 or 66), so we inherited his 64 chevy c10 shortbed... when we got there saturday, it was basically a rolling chassis w/ a cab bolted on... the boys were up all night last night putting it together, fabbing some new steel parts, and throwing all the body back on... today they re-wired everything, stuck the head and brake lights back on, started her up and BAM! she runs!
but HOLY SHIT IS SHE UGLY! wow... shortbeds are pretty badass, but the cab is hand-painted with gray primer (yeah, brush streaks galore), the inside is hand painted some sort of almost-flat black, the front grill had been powder coated chrome (i actually like it better than the old real chrome, it's less "bling"). one side panel is powder coated white, there's no bed in the back and the tailgate and other side panel are bare metal. tops out at about 50mph, hahah! it was a long drive back over the bridge needless to say...
we're picking up a hood and various other parts at ye olden junkyard next weekend! gonna be a fun project :) i am in love with the red wheels... and the lines on these year trucks... it may look like a pile right now, but give us a few months and it'll be flat black, new tranny, nice hardwood / steel flatbed and fast as fuck... not to mention i'll be sewing up a storm when we pick up some new foam and vinyl...
pictures of the beast coming soon...

REFERENCE: This is the body style, if you are wondering... only ours is minus a paintjob and those ugly new-school rims & that strange bumper thing...
