On a cold December morning in 2003, four days before Christmas, Beyond the Veil was invited to perform at a major troop deployment at BWI airport with the USO Liberty Bells.
It was a heart-wrenching experience. Men and women in fatigues stood in line to depart to a place many of us would have trouble finding on a globe, much less being prepared to leave family and friends to travel to, possibly never to return.
The throngs of family clutching their loved ones as they said tearful goodbyes with "Jingle Bells" playing softly over the system PA was a scene we will never forget. It served as a wake up call to us that it takes a special person to leave their family to fight--and possibly die--on soil our eyes may never see, to defend the freedoms we enjoy in America.
It also served as the inspiration for our song "Fly Away". You can hear this song as the first song on our profile at myspace at
http://www.myspace.com/beyondtheveilministry today and if you would like a free copy, please email us at strikenter@msn.com and we will be happy to send you one in honor of our brave men and women in uniform.
"Thank you" just does not seem big enough, but we offer it still. God bless the United States Armed Forces and may God continue to bless America.

FLY AWAY
Music by: Brittany M. Turner
Lyrics by: Brittany M. Turner and Stephanie M. Turner
Pieces of a promise,
Broken once again.
Traveling a lonely road,
Carried by the wind.
Knowing you’re the one,
But never knowing when,
Your love will slip away.
Treasuring your mission,
I even call it mine.
But all this time alone,
Could be a warning sign.
One of these days,
There may come a time,
Your absence will remain.
Once again they’ll call your name…
Off again you’ll save the day…
Out of my life…You’ll fly……
Fly away…
Go and save the world
Don’t save my heart...
Or the tears I cry…
When you are gone…
Fly away…
Clinging to your essence,
Hope swells again,
You will return,
My broken heart to mend.
But for now,
Lonely days I spend
As memories fade to gray.
Once again they’ll call your name…
Off again you’ll save the day…
Out of my life…You’ll fly……
