OK. There is NO doubt. Bruce Springsteen is beautiful. Primarily because of 'Dancing In the Dark' and 'Secret Garden' and so on. But really the only person ANYBODY should be talking about is Lifelike. I've been listening to that beautiful Lifelike vs. Morgan Page track for months now. And I'm still so deeply affected by it. From the very first reverse cymbal swell. My heart skips a beat. The vocal! I get a lump in my throat EVERY time. Once when I was at the gym in LA I started crying on the cycling machine and had to pretend I had sweat in my eye.
Currently listening:
Roy Orbison: Black & White Night [Blu-ray]
Release date: 2008-09-30

you see. i would have said secret garden. ESPECIALLY if you combine it with that scene in jerry maguire. with the cute kid in the glasses that know how much a human head weighs. thats some hard rocking funk right there. but then i went and listened to dancing in the dark just now, and that is an eye opener. "you cant start a fire worrying about your little world falling apart" springsteen ins SO depressed. more depressed than even you DC. have you even listened to nebraska??? thats some depressing shit right there. but then i listened to morgan page with lifelike again and it all came into focus. "nightdrive with you" by anoraak!!!! THATS the missing piece of the puzzle.

You seem to be making a lot of sense tonight, PG. You have a lot of anger in you. But you seem to be focussing it well. Nightdrive With You. Jerry Maguire with that cute smart little G. Nebraska. But you seem to be missing a couple of important points here. "Sittin' round cryin over a broken heart" and so on. And then the repeated vocal line "even if we're just dancin in the dark" in unison with the synth. Listen to him. Fending off the desperation. Standing on the brink of the precipice. All things that YOU understand, PG, because you are about as wretched and sorry and base as a human being can become. But let's cut the bullshit and get straight to the point here. Alden Tyrell. Odessa Theme. The New York night. MY GOD.

OK this is debatable. Springsteen is an absolute musical legend. Who could pass up the oportunity to dance around to Born In the USA. That husky voice of Springsteen just makes my heart melt. I do agree that Lifelike does make me want to curl up into a little ball and ponder on my thoughts and cry like a little school girl. BUT what is better? Dancing around looking like a loony, or crawling into a ball and inevitably spending too much time thinking about the effect this beauty has in your life? My thoughts are irrelevant compared to these two musical geniouses.
