Yes, it's official that my L.A. Lakers are officially the 2009 NBA World Champs and what was interesting is that they won it on Flag Day (6-14-09) Coach Phil Jackson made history by surpassing the late Red Auerbach's record of winning the most NBA Titles at ten, while Red only won Nine. Red is still a GREAT Coach, who since has been inducted in the HOF. Phil will no doubt be inducted in the HOF convincingly. He played for North Dakota State & the New York Knicks. But his most success as been a coach. He's won six NBA Titles for the Chicago Bulls back when they was dominant with Jordan & Pippen. Also, he's won four NBA Titles with the L.A.Lakers, giving them their sixteenth. championship, the first since 2002, and they did it without Shaquille O'Neal. Kobe Bryant who i admire not only as an athlete, but a person proved everyone wrong (Including critics) that said he couldn't do it without Shaq. Well, he came, saw & did it indeed! He now has four rings and will no doubt be wanting more when the 2010 season starts in November of 2009. The Lakers had a GREAT team this year and was even better than last year's team that shoud've won it all against the Boston Celtics in 2008. But this was their year and they deserved it no doubt! I never give up on these guys whenever they play and i always remembered what legendary Green Bay Packers coach Vince Lombardi used to say. "The Harder you work, the tougher it is to surrender." Well, they didn't do that and that's why they deserve to be champions without a doubt! Let's hope Phil Jackson is able to coach next season in order for them to repeat hopefully. Since it was Flag Day, the USA sure didn't give up on anything and futhermore, our colors never run. It was Purple, Gold & White celebrating with the Red, White & Blue all the way! Take Care y'all
