Friends,
This is such an exciting time for the Tom Lynch Company—we
just premiered our new Nickelodeon series, “The Troop,” and I hope that
everyone enjoyed watching it as much as I enjoyed making it.
This was one of
the most exciting shows I have ever produced. I’m crazy about the sci-fi elements, but at the same time,
the show is about three typical high school students who have to deal with the
same issues that American teenagers run into. Starting with “The Secret World of Alex Mack,” which was on
Nickelodeon in the 1990’s, I’ve always loved blending the fantastic with the
realities of everyday life.
The real fun and challenge was creating the right balance of
laughs and screams for the audience.
But what takes the show to the next level is the CGI. I had a blast with our guys creating
all the monsters. The process of
making a monster is really intense—you start with a gray sketch, and in a
couple of weeks, your CGI guys have created living, breathing creatures that I
definitely wouldn’t want to find underneath my bed. At the same time, I think the Snark’s pretty cute—check out
The Troop’s website for pictures, ways to join The Troop, mission assignments,
and more:

I’ll be sending out my thoughts on the show as the series
progresses. Let’s make this one a
hit, guys! Tell all your friends
to tune into the next episode this Friday night at 8:00pm on Nickelodeon. And make sure to leave messages
here for me on your thoughts about that show—I love reading your comments!
Love and respect,
Tommy Lynch
