As I make my final preparations for Christmas, I always take time to reflect on the past year, on how my life has progressed, to acknowledge the errors I have made and to look for ways to change myself to become a better person.

I believe in change, and my favorite phrase, which changed my life, is 'If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got!'

If things are bad in our lives, we must remember that it is us, who are the common factor. We can sit about and moan and accept our plight, or we can look within ourselves to change the situations which make us unhappy....and that will often involve looking to change something within you, not relying on change in others, or in circumstance.

We all have the ability to change. It is our fears and insecurities which hold us back. Often we don't know where these come from and we look for reasons and answers....read Freud and other such books and many of your questions will be answered, but knowing where they come from, only allows us to lay blame: it is the moving forward from this point, which is far more important....

Truth, honesty, compassion and doing the right thing, even when the right thing is the hardest option...these are the important things in life, and living our lives, with these virtues as the basis of where we come from, is the key to happiness...that and an open mind.

I hope you don't' mind me sharing these thoughts with you... they have helped me rebuild my life from total destruction to happiness. Regret is an inevitable part of change, since we make decisions based on the information we have at that time, if we progress and change for the better, some of the decisions we made in the past, will prove to be wrong, but I look at that as being a positive, since the change in me will stop me making that wrong decision in the future!

I do hope you have a fantastic Christmas and start the New Year feeling positive and refreshed....and I hope to see as many of you as possible at the Club!! Next Club will be Feb 2nd 2008 and the theme is 'Privates on Parade'. Uniforms etc..
