Not that Eisley goings-on's are not being tweeted, blogged and facebook'd (verbs?) but myspace is getting sadder as traffic is routed to newer, bigger, better. Thought I'd throw down a few words here out of respect and gratitude. btw - twitter.com/eisley has info and minutiae.
Tour dates are up
. Follow links to get tickets if you desire to come. We are main support for Say Anything. This is not just a tour of convenience though it's true that Sherri married to the lead singer of S.A. (for a better glimpse, follow @SDuPreeBemis on Twitter). The truth... Eisley worked hard to get an album out this year but as that hope diminished, the offer to grab a tour and get out of the house seemed like a great option. Couple that with the fact that Max Bemis has been an Eisley fan since the MossEisley days... bam. Insta-tour.
"Fire Kite ep" - We are bringing this out with us. It's a digi-pac. 4 songs: two (2) finished, rough-mixed tunes from the new LP, a Max Bemis cover (eisley) song and a wonderfully eclectic Sherri garage band demo. The ep is only available on tour ("tour ep"). We're only making a limited # of these. Hey, i know it's a marketing stunt but... it's also just something to sell... and it's a good way to foreward u guys that a new LP is coming in 2010. First quarter. Followed by a massive tour. Yeah, right. :-)
FREE Litho - We're also bringing out this 4 color, humungus 22" wide lithograph. Esthetically, it's a mash up of sherri art and ep cover art. Band will sign at merch area after the show. The litho is FREE with purchase of ep. You can't buy it separate. Worse, it's only for the tour. sorrrrrrrrry. We're going
gimmick. Gimmick is in. If you believe that pls close your eyes and imagine a terrifying, slimy, smelly, partially-rotting monster is biting the head off your torso.
Preview of the ep - btw. On or around October 6th, we'll preview the ep cover art, litho, track list and a 30 second clip of one of the songs... probably on absolutepunk.net or maybe in a few other places to get some traction. Will update on Twitter/Facebook.
Can't think of what else. The band is rehearsing now like psycho-
indie-zombies. btw - don't ever call Eisley "
indie" around Warner Bros. What else... The new record is slated for mixing as I type... that is to say, we are on the hunt for a brilliant mixer... maybe the biggest mixer in the world. An 8' tall one. What else... Oh, Chauntelle is engaged. Weston is engaged. They are going to have a double wedding in January... no, not to each other. That's a different state i think. Still, very DuPree thing to do. I think that's all for now.
Oh, the new record is great. That's my opinion but it's getting great reviews. NO, not from industry critics... not yet. I mean pre-industry... friends, associates, bands, people. You will be the real judge/jury/executioners of this outcome... next year. You can get out your axes now b'cuz the ep comes out October 12th... Also on iTunes in case you can't come to a show. Only, you can't get the packaging and litho.
Also - Stacy and Sherri got flu shots today so they wouldn't get sick and not be able to sing for you in 4 weeks. Chauntelle will follow. The dudes are like, "i played drums with 104 temperature... i can do it again".
Cya.
Girls at the doctor's office waiting to get flu shots - today.

Chauntelle at New Orleans diner ordering a delicious b-fast. We were there for Mute Math show.

Stacy chillin'... yesterday in Weston's future home where his fiance' now lives alone.
Sorry - no pictures of Weston and Garron. It's not all about the girls. It's just that those guys don't ever just lounge around in photo-genic-like poses. They're flighty.
