Today The Spike Band received some sad news from some great friends of ours.  For those that follow The Spike Band in, chances are you have seen us or heard about us playing at a sushi resturant in Frisco named 9 Fish.  This is a gig that the band has played regularly for over two years, and has been a wonderful professional, and growing experience for us.  We recieved news today that our good friends John and Steven, the owners of 9 Fish, have decided to close the doors on this resturant we have come to know as one of the band's homes.

As a band, we'd like to take this opportunity to thank John and Steven for their support for us over these last couple of years.  They always treated us professionally, kindly, and gave us a great deal of support.  They took excellent care of the band and our friends, as well as allowing us to tape our televison appearance there, attending shows outside of the resturant, helping us to sell CD's, and always allowing us to play our music.  Perhaps most noteably, they provided Spike a venue and helped set up his surprise proposal to his wife Katherine.  We could not have asked for a better pair of people to work for.  The waitstaff was always just as kind, and we've become good friends with all of them.

While we'll miss being able to go and play at our "home" resturant, we wish John, Steven, Sisca and Stephanie the BEST of luck with their future endeavors, and we are very grateful for having such a warm, supportive place to play and grow.

John and Steven, thanks for everything, and good luck to you!

I'm sorry to hear about this. As a life-long fan of the band and sushi lover, I'll definitely miss their kindness and generosity for sure. No one could forget the terrific food and fun staff!

By the way, Catherine is too easy for me to remember how to spell because a.) she's my sister, and b.) I'll never forget her little bossy way of spelling it as a kid: C-a-T-h-E-r-I-N-E! Watch out next time you spell it with a "K". You may get a spelling lesson!
