Now I know most of you regard what we do as really hard work and don't envy our rough on the road lifestyle but occasionally you get a job that seems more like a holiday. Mainly due to Roy and the other hard grafters of Festival Muisiglanzgmeind. (Check out the pics at
http://www.muisiglanzgmeind.ch/ ) we had an excellent time this weekend in incredible chocolate box surroundings right in the heart of Switzerland. Lured to Grafenort a day early with the promise of unlimited food and drink, first class travel and accommodation and hot and cold running assistants to tend to everything in between (carry Grog over the mud on your back to the tattoo stand? Certainly!) I had to ask 'Have you got the right band?' I mean we were treated like rockstars! Of course it pissed with rain on the first day – what's a festival without mud? But the moon shone on Saturday when we took to the stage and played a kick ass set – if I dare say so myself. We had a brilliant family reunion with Eisbrecher who played a great set too, as usual, and I was really sad to go on Sunday, just as a traditional vocal group delivered mass to the muddy festival funsters under blue skies. Of the Swiss stereotype for neatness I think I can safely assure you that it still exists. Whilst cruising the business class lounge at Zurich airport for coffee and pickles I had a strange sensation that I was being followed. Indeed I was being shadowed by a woman with a mop who had spotted my muddy sneakers and was erasing my footprints behind me.
