Hey All
,
As some of you may or may not know, for the last several months, I have been going slightly "mad" (no pun intended) with promoting my most recent gig: Astonbury, where I was scheduled to support Jay Sean, Kano & Zane Lowe.
(Pictures are up now in my profile photos - Comment!)
So I'm writing this blog, just detailing what happened on this amazing event and just to share my experience with you all.
As an unsigned artist, the chance to support huge stars, rarely comes along and I believe you need to embrace it with open arms or you do not deserve to be in this business.
On Saturday June 7th, I travelled to Birmingham to support Wiley, Kano & Zane Lowe on the main stafe of Astonbury (an Aston University festival open to all students across the UK).
Originally Jay Sean was scheduled to appear, however due to unforeseeable curcumstances, he couldn't make it
... but none the less the show had to contine and Wiley made a shocking but very welcomed appearance!
(The crowd really did wanna drink, dance and bubble...lol.!!)
!
The event ran from 12pm till 1am and there were a lot of acts on stage from Rock bands, to Bhangra dances to just people screaming into the microphone (metal).
Although this didn't cater to specific individual needs, it did bring variety into the show and at a festival, especially a student one, I think this is the most important factor!
Needless to say, supporting such huge artists and performing in front of 3000+ people, sent a few nerves into me and I was a laughable wreck! I spent most of the day fine tuning my performance mixes of my songs, getting clothes ready, rehearsing like a crazy person...ALL KINDS OF MADNESSITY BEHAVIOUR I TELL U.LOL.

In the end, two minutes before going on stage..THE NERVES DOUBLED UP, as I knew I had to smash this! Who gets opportunities like this everyday!!???! I mean I was given the prime slot of this event; performing directly before all three headliners!!!!
!
Shirin ( a 17year old singer from Portsmouth) went on stage and sang our song "Nothing Can Change", and I was itching to get on stage and ran on when it came to my middle 16 verse. The ovation was unbelievable! It;s shocking to know that people actually recognise me and the music!
The song went down great and we went on to perform "London, Delhi". This got the crowd hyped up and anxious to hear what was next, so obviously I hit them with "Suppose If" and I recieved a roar which literally deafened me!

The amazing factor for me was that Wiley, Kano and his manager loved the show. Wiley bigged it up when he went on stage, which saw me running right back onto the stage with him to recieve the roar from the crowd again!! (I LOVE IT!!!)
Also Kano and his manager both made an effort to watch the performance from the VIP balcony. What artist in the world wouldn't be happy with this??! I think they were impressed by the hunger in me and the professionalism and enthusiasm of my performance show!
I left with my head held high, nerves banished and the crowd's respect!
Kano came on and went nuts!! Jumping off the stage into the crowd and then Zane Lowe mixed his ass off, running around stage like a lunatice - getting the crowd pumped!
The gig was amazing!! I cannot stress the insanity of the atmosphere, the crowd and the day itself! TOTALLY BREATH-TAKING!!
I only hope, more events like this come in the future for me, and those reading this will come, attend and hopefully enjoy watching the performance as I do participating!

Godbless.
Madnessity.
