FOR AN INCREDIBLE CAUSE.

Dear Friends,

I was raised by two of the most compassionate people that I have ever met. My mother is a speech therapist who spends 70 hours a week working with autistic children, as well as other disorders on the spectrum. She started a non profit organization with three other women, outside of her busy schedule, as another way to stimulate their patients ( Please check out the Healing Horses website, http://www.healinghorsescv.com/index.html) My father is a retired Fire Marshall who spent 28 years of his life running into burning buildings and protecting my community. I love donating my time and/or effort to support a socially beneficial cause... simply because I believe that life is a beautiful thing. For the past two years I have been struggling to find a way that I could donate my time to a cause of my own.. Well, it has finally come to me. I wanted to combine my love of human contact, art, and beauty... and here it goes! I am currently working on a non-profit organization that will focus on the skin care and self esteem/self confidence of women who have and/or are currently fighting breast cancer. I want to give back to these women what cancer and chemotherapy has been taken from them. Be it their sexuality, femininity, pride, ....whatever. I want to give these women a day of beauty and education. My plan is to contact support groups and my gift will be a surprise- a night of glamour and a room full of support.

HERE is where you come into play:

PHOTOGRAPHERS: I am looking for photographers in OC, LA, and the surrounding areas. who are willing to donate their time and equipment for beauty portraiture. This could open plenty of doors for you in the future :) One night couldn't possibly hurt you.

MAKE-UP ARTISTS: You're in the industry because you love to make people feel great about themselves, ... just imagine this kind of satisfaction. I've done my research.. and will continue to do so... in terms of product knowledge. [no Products containing essential oils (concentrated oil extracts from plants, Moisturizers containing fragrance, lanolin, dye, alcohol or propylene glycol, Sunscreens containing fragrance, oil, PABA, Make-ups containing oil--- and so on.] I will be in contact with a couple different skin care companies for product donations, etc.

HAIR STYLISTS: Who better to educate them on hair treatment? I have also done my research on this as well.... :) So contact me and I would be more than happy to point you in the right direction. I am in contact with various wig stores for the women who have suffered hair loss- this is going to be one of the biggest transformations of the night. You enjoy the feeling of giving your clients the confidence they need....here's your opportunity.


In terms of funding- I will be putting together a team for the 2009- Breast Cancer 3 Day. A ..you guessed it... 3 day, 60 mile walk in beautiful San Diego, CA. I hope to gain sponsor's for the event- money raised will go to the purchase of skin care products, hair pieces, film, etc. Also, As an end result, at the end of the 2009-2010 year- I would love to have a gallery exhibition for the portraits- something along the lines of a "faces of survivors" night. Donations will either be going to the future expenses of the group or to a specific cause :)



I know too many women who have had their lives completely turned around by cancer.
I'm sure you do, too...
