Finally, it is Friday. I made it to my one month mark at work. This office is totally different than the one from which I came. It is backwards to me. Luckily, I know the work, I just need to learn the procedures. I am getting training the 'trial by error' way. Thankfully, it won't hurt a veteran if I miss something for a few days. I know the important stuff to look for and that is what is important.
Over the next 60 days, the time left to my first review, I am going to really watch the processes and see what needs to be reinvented. A few of the older coworkers don't like change and believe in doing it the same way as always. That thinking is not going to work with the changing technology and plans for the program. The plans need to be embraced and so do the new ideas. Only then will it work properly.
I'm going to go relax this weekend. We've had a very busy and stressful six weeks. We need time to go enjoy our new home town.
