So today was eventful... lots of cop stuff. I'm sitting in my studio with headphones on, I hear my phone ring. It's Detective Andrew Camp, informing me that my next door neighbor's house is surrounded by cops. As this was happening, I could hear sirens, yelling, and the gnashing of flesh-eating K-9's teeth in the background.

The rest of this blog is filled with content that may be unsuitable for anyone thinking about staying (or relocating) to Anderson, IN.

I opened the shade to see two Anderson police officers sprinting down the alley behind my house. In the neighbor's front yard, there was an undercover cop standing with a black hoodie in one hand and his radio in the other. He's looking frantically in every direction, but I don't know who/what for. My extreme patriotism and unquenchable thirst for danger propelled me out of my house and to the lawn where the officer stood. I asked him what was going on and if there was anything I, "Sergeant Blood Fist" could do to help.

"Somebody tried to steal your neighbor's car!" he exclaimed.
"Just now? In broad daylight?" I asked.
He replied, "Yes, only 5 minutes ago."

Supposedly, another neighbor was watching as the heist was taking place (around noon) and called the cops. The cops showed up as the car thief was backing up out of the neighbor's driveway. Needless to say, he couldn't get very far with two squad cars trapping him in. So, instead of surrendering and facing the consequences, he got out of the car and started running (good choice). One of the cops (the one I was talking to in the front yard) happened to get a hand on him, but unfortunately only managed to rip the hoodie from the the man's back. There was now a criminal at large, running around the streets of Anderson, possibly in my backyard. Who knows? There were cops everywhere. The officer told me to go inside, lock the doors, and keep an eye out through my back room window for a person who matched the description he gave me. After about an hour, I saw anywhere from 8 to 10 cops all go sprinting in the same direction. About 15 minutes later, my neighbor's yard was free of police officers, which led me to believe that the suspect was found and arrested.

Some may say, "poor neighbors", but I say, "poor me". I've lived in my house for about 6 months now with no neighborhood problems... no neighbors yelling, no break ins, no drug deals, no stray cats, etc. It's been pretty peaceful actually. But ever since these new neighbors moved in, it's been nothing but trouble. These people have enemies, I swear. Their house was broken into, their car was stolen, now the other neighbor's dog is barking all the freakin' time, because it knows that these new neighbors aren't right, and I wouldn't be surprised if they have a meth lab in their basement...it would make perfect sense. Not to mention all of the noise they've been making when I'm trying to record; operating heavy machinery right outside my window, blaring their skanky rap music all flippin' day, etc. Arrrgh! When will these people leave?!

I guess I'll just look on the bright side. I, "Sergeant Blood Fist" performed my civic duty today as a neighborhood watchman for about 1 hour, and you should have seen me.... I was friggin' awesome!
