Hi folks,
Sorry for the mass email but I need to catch everyone.
Yes, it's going to rain on Saturday despite the combined efforts of literally everyone I know, our committee, the community and strangers I've talked to. Yes, strangers, who aren't pagan said they would pray that it doesn't rain!
Here's the deal - I checked four weather websites. This isn't a tropical storm. The heaviest rain for RI is coming tomorrow, Friday, two inches or so. On Saturday they are forecasting 10 to 15 mph winds and showers. Is it going to be wet, yup. Is it going to be unbearable, I don't think so. I think the hardest park of the day will be set-up for the merchants because they will be setting up in rain.
There isn't a rain date because, frankly, the chances of getting all the merchants, workshop presenters and musicians back another day is probably nil at this time of year. That's why we do it rain or shine. If this was a tropical storm or hurricane I would cancel for the safety of everyone, but it isn't.
So, bring umbrellas and rain coats. Bring chairs to sit on 'cause the ground is going to be mighty uncomfortable to sit on. And please come. We will have the workshops and the music and the vendors and psychics. Come down and bring your friends for a wet, but still educational and enjoyable day.
Don't forget to bring a non-perishable food donation.
Don't forget to bring your empty ink cartridges and old cell phones.
Don't forget the blood drive, we have some special goodie bags that each blood donor will receive.
Check out today's Pro Jo article in the Lifebeat section, last page. The reporter did a nice positive job.
See you all Saturday!
And as always, feel free to repost so people know we are still going to hold PPD.
