So, I wanted to write a nice lengthy entry here, but this week's finally taken it's toll and all I want to do is sleep. I'll keep this brief.
Monday, the 13th marked my first day at my new job, CIA SR. for Best Buy 1888. And since 8 in the morning of that day, we've been hauling ass, preparing for today's culture day as well as the store's opening. It's been so strange, waking up in the morning and
not going to my old store. It still kind of wierds me out. heh. but It's new. And it's fun. And so far, exhausting.
Just to give you an idea, this week, I had my usual two days off but still, at the end of the week, I'm calculating I've put in...about 45 hours. Maybe a little more. So, not only is that 5 hours of over-time, that's still significantly more than the 34 hours I'm used to putting in.
But it's so exciting! I have an amazing support group within the leadership team - There's Ram, Henry, George, Josie...and then new, awesome people like Craig (Crazy Craig the Englishman?) and Pam who are just making this transition so enjoyable. And then there's Brenda, who's going to help me train and show me all the stuff I still don't know about the precinct. It's really been an amazing experience, from hearing Craig free-style rap ("Nigga, Digg-Dawg!") in josie's car yesterday during lunch to standing in front of 115 new employees and introducing myself as Geek Squad Senior.
My new precinct.
Brenda ( <3 ) and Jenni on the day we "moved in".
Culture day. 115 brand new hires.
Uhoh.
So exciting.
