i made it this far!
it has been a great challenge injecting this massive project into the regularly scheduled programming of the every day... so, in between work assignments by day... and into the wee hours of night, "ILM365" is still kickin'. some days come easy, where the shots magically appear, and others, well... let's say sometimes hours are spent on the perfect photo. it's not just about the image. it's about the conceptual emotional connection when i am photographing it. there's criteria that needs to apply: i have to love it, i have to experience it & it has to feel like miami. photography is a form of observation... this project is a form of experience.

i love miami 365 is not exactly a tour guide's overview of miami, rather, a quintessential collection of daily moments as they pass me by. i have remained committed to the concept and have not cheated once! i have always managed to get the shot of the day... although, sometimes it's not what was originally intended -- curve balls appear when you least expect it... or, it rains! this project is about appreciating life as it comes, not exactly as it is planned. and once that day is up... that's it... it's time to move on! ...which is why i value every opportunity that appears, as no moment lasts forever. so many life lessons are practiced in this simple project of mine.

i feel so fortunate to be successfully approaching the half way mark, and i want to thank everyone that has been supporting my crazy idea since day one. thanks to all the sponsors; the venues and galleries; media -- miami.com for getting the word out; 944 magazine, my bread & butter, for publishing some of the shots; fotomission.org for awarding recognition among my peers, and to all my good people's helping hands. and especially, many thanks to all the participants...
...to all the random strangers that i've had the courage to request their participation in my photographic vision at a moment's notice (like at the nude beach)
...to all my amazing friends that have been patient with me while i pursue my shots (like, having to sit with me on the bridge just waiting for the fish to appear)
...to all my "bodyguards," those that have accompanied me to some not-so-safe areas at not-so-safe hours for a girl and a camera (like the abandoned buildings in wynwood)
...and to everyone sharing their "loves" (like flying me in a cessna 172 to see the city from a different point of view)

i hope you are enjoying the project as much as i am... and please, connect with me on some of your experiences... this is about miami, including everyone in it.

i look forward to what the future brings. see you there!

:)
