For the past two days the Georgia State Patrol has been conducting drills at the abandoned Coosa Middle School.  I saw a dozen GA state patrol troops in military formation alongside 21st century paddy wagons, armored trucks, and a fleet of new unmarked cars.

They have been using mass sirens daily up and down the road leading to the state line with Alabama, perhaps practicing shutting down the borders? Perhaps it is to prevent the 91 people about to be laid off from one of the area's factories from rioting?

Either way. It's creeping me out.

Speaking of creeping me out, this silly southern town holds an annual chili cook off, and what would a martial law / police state chili cookoff be with out
