I must say, as Obama is finally starting to put some meat on his "hope" and "change" skeleton message I can see how little change is to come. His team of advisors is a who's who of the old guard. Obama will be just another puppet of corporate power. He will not promote single payer healthcare. He will not pull all the troops from Iraq. He's appeasing the AIPAC. He is not putting enough emphasis on solar power. He opposes a carbon pollution tax. And what's worse, he supports more nuclear power!!

We the people need more choices. This two party system leaves us voting for the lesser evil not for a good leader.

I urge you think about REAL CHANGE.

There has not been a President in power that has not been a puppet of the corporations and powers that be in a long time. It will be a very long time before there ever is one who is not.
Nader will not be so different once in the big chair and the government is not the ones who make the real changes it's the people united!!!

Exactly! And what does Nader's campaign represent? The people changing the two party system.

As far as whether he would make a difference, I beg to differ. Are you familiar with Nadar's track record? The man has been fighting for the people for a long time.

I wouldn't vote for him because I wouldn't waste my democratic vote on someone who is not going to win. Especially because as a domino effect that would equal more votes for McCain!!!
So no vote for Nader and I will encourage others not to as well.

Too many people think that way. I hate to say it, but it's foolish. Here's a few reasons. The Democrats and Republicans are basically the same. Look at the last two votes in Congress, more money to Iraq and wiretapping immunity! IT'S BULLSHIT. If, in fact, you want real change then you have to be a part of the movement for third party candidates getting their due. That means media coverage and being included in the debates.
Secondly, Nader is polling at 5% to 6% with no media exposure. That is incredible! So just think if he got a fair shake at this. That by no means is a throwaway vote. You talk about the people making a change, well then help get a third party candidate on the ballot!
Lastly, many people have the fear of giving their vote away to the other candidate if they vote independent. There is a website called votepact.org which suggests a way for democrats and republicans to make a pact and use their votes for the best candidate not the lesser evil.

It's a throwaway vote because he's not going to win and the ones who vote for him are mostly democrats, because Republicans are mostly smart that way, get the Republican in.

And btw, I do know there's not much difference between the Republicrats and Democans!!!

There is no such thing as a throw away vote... unless you simply do not vote at all...

Well if you truly believe that, why aren't you working for a change? Such a negative attitude is sad.
You can't win if you already believe you are defeated. You have to put in the effort and face that enormous challenge. VOTENADER.ORG

As I mentioned earlier it's not only about winning, it's about making a change in the two part system. The Nader campaign needs volunteers, the message needs to be spread. It's one of real change. I challenge you to think of the possibilities your efforts can make on the future.

I am glad to see you have some strong feelings about this election. I support Ron Paul... so I can respect the ideas of what you are saying and certainly get back the "throw away vote" argument from other people... Just nice to see others standing up for what they believe in, rather than what they tell us we should believe in, because it's most popular.

Nothing changes unless we change it...

you go Lanky!

I'm with you Lanky. I think people should stop being afraid of "throwing away" their vote by voting for a third-party candidate. I believe we've reached a point politically in America where a two party system is out-dated. I'm tired of feeling like the only real choices available are based on a candidate's stance ..ion and other "typical' party line issues. If third-party candidates actually received votes from everyone who said, "I'd like to vote for so-and-so, but I don't want to throw away my vote", then perhaps we could really start to change. Perhaps most have simply lost faith in the fact that their voice actually counts for something.
