Wow! What a difference a day makes! It's all temporary, isn't it? Yesterday, I hated everything and spent the day angry! This morning I read all the inspiring emails sent to me by those who read my first Daily BLOG, and you know what, I feel great! I know it's all a state of mind, but it's funny, b/c during these tough times, it's when you do start to focus on the intangibles. It reminds me of a very personal story for me: Two years ago, Hurricane Wilma did a great job destroying my neighborhood. My generator broke, and my neighbor, an engineer, came over to fix it. We've been the best of friends ever since. Our whole neighborhood became closer as a whole, but it took a hurricane to do it. It took no power for 23 days for us to become better acquainted. But that's the point; when we're riding high, we don't look for anyone else or we don't take "time out to smell the roses." But we should. We all need somebody, and somebody needs us!
Do me a favor, trust me, you'll thank me later----Tell a loved one today, that you love them. It's okay if you're single. Tell your child, your parents, your dog, I don't care, just say the words, you'll feel better, I promise you (or your money back)! One more thing, do something for yourself today. It doesn't have to a big deal. Could be something small like buy yourself something. Don't want to spend the money? Plenty of great things you can do for yourself that doesn't cost a dime. Take a long walk, sit in the dark with a candle burning as you listen to Miles Davis, Jimi Hendrix, or Celia Cruz. It doesn't matter, the point is, do something! You deserve it!

Wow, you should put this stuff in a book! Just reading this is good stress relief. It takes your mind off your problems and makes you more focused on those less fortunate! Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Hope you have an even better day tomorrow.

Wow, I remember those 23 days.....read my blogs--- 'Day 12....just wanna die!!!!' and 'I am thankful....' .

You are so right, if it wasn't for the 'bad' times, would we really be aware of the 'good' times?? I am a firm believer that good always comes out of every bad situation. Sometimes it's immediately apparent...sometimes you may not see it for a long time....and other times you have to look for it...but one thing's for sure, the good is always there!

Anyway, I am going to take your advice.
I think I'll go out to the mall, buy myself a 'little something', feed myself a good meal, and then come home and take a nap!

Well... you've convinced me! I do deserve to go shopping!
I know exactly what you mean... I am a firm believer that the earth is one being... and we are just tiny cells in it... and to really experience this being we need to understand that we are one... and that we need eachother, it doesn't matter the country, the continent, the religions... only together we are trully alive...

Its very interesting, what you write, what you suggest. Everything is so positive. And everything is true! Im definitely going to buy your book, seems like its going to be a beautiful story. The part of telling someone you love them everyday, is something i do every single day, i lost my parents way too fast, ive lost many family members within the past two years, and at one point in my life , i really wished that God would have taken me then, but all the things that i have been through, wish i dont wish upon anyone, not even an enemy, have made me the srong woman and single mother I am today. And i make sure wether its through a note, a message or verbally that i tell my kids, family and friends how much i love them. Im looking forward to reading the book.
And good luck in all you do!

Maybe it's my age, but that's how I live each day. I appreciate my family, friends, my life. I have fun everyday and have learned over the years what is really important..be happy and make it contagious! Bringing happiness to someone else's life makes your's even more fulfilling..it's a vicious circle! I wear a bracelet that says LIVE LOVE LAUGH and that's what I do! It works!
Thanks for bringing the inspiration to others!

Alex, this was a very well written blog. You express yourself clearly and with profound thought. I'm like you. I don't take life for granted. I tell people that I love them whenever I get a chance. I don't live life with regret either.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful blog!

to go along with your thoughts, isn't it funny how most everyone only gets together for weddings or funerals??? maybe because they are so caught up in their own lives that they forget to maybe just call someone to say hi. been there done that, especially at funerals, afterwards everyone gathers and has a great time talking about old times...and promise that you all will get together more often, because you never know when the end could be, yet the end comes to quickly for alot of them, because they never do hold true to those spoken words of yesterday. hmmmm....???? have a great friday and even though i don't know you, just because....i love you!!!....mmmmm...that felt good....lol

The real test in life, as in golf, is not in keeping out of the rough - but in getting out after we've hit one into the tall grass. Championships, in games and in life, are won by those we have learned to cope with adversity.

Inspiring my friend. I sometimes lose focus myself while up on that mountain. Although life is just on the other side on the way down to that valley. Always know God is always there in no matter what situation. So many things we don't understand in life but know that God"s will is constant in our lives.

Seriously, you really know how to put it right down in words. I had the worst day today running around in this race of Life. I kept telling myself "it no easy" in my spanish slang and it worked! Really enjoyed your blog it really does make great sense. Follow your soul and it will lead you to LIFE....

I love this piece! When I want to get a new job or I don't want to clean my house, I think, it could be worse, I could not have a job, or I could not be blessed to have a warm and comfortably cool house. That is when I thank the Lord and I say those blessed words: "I love you, and thanks for every blessing, just to be able to enjoy my time on this earth." Thanks again, for your positiveness. Gracias, mi amigo...

Hi Again...I share the same views, Alexander...things happen for a purpose/reason and yes, I tell people I love them and yes, I do things for myself, for my soul or I can't function! Looks like some things are meant to be and sometimes, when something is made to happen, they things arrange themselves in a way that makes that possible. Great that you got yourself a good friend! And look for the signs, there are signs everywhere? Do you think so too??? All the best! Gabriela

Alex,
That is the beauty of of trials and challenges. It gives us the opportunity to evolve, and become more humane. Now, with all that is going on, we are all able to get in touch with our deeper selves, and to hopefully be more present with one another. That, is what life is about. Learning to better love, or I like to think, remembering our divinity. Like awakening from a dream......
